Hi all quick question I have never been sure about
Greenbriar classic for example
You hit it onto the green and the ball rolls for miles indicating fast green however then when you go to take your 20ft putt your putter maximum distance is only 112 yards indicating a very slow green.
Why is this?

The ball must have been rolling downhill, and/or the greens are firm. If the putter is reading 112 they are slow.

The full iron shots would be much more affected by firmness as opposed to speed though, right? If they are firm/slow you would expect approach shots to release a lot, but the putter would still give a low max distance number when putting.
This week's PGA event definitely seems like firm/slow settings, which would explain what you are talking about.
