Yes we can find which courses are "liked", but is there a way to sort which courses are officially reviewed? Looking at the list of courses I don't see any that are reviewed.

We're not "offiicially" reviewing courses any more. The only reviews we have are those by the community members.
And, at present, I don't think you can filter by ones that have reviews as opposed to ones that do not. We can look at working on something like that, though.

I saw just recently you(TGCTours) was looking for course reviewers in the threads here, so what do you need reveiewers for If your not reviewing courses? Matter of fact the guide for reviewing courses is still up and its a good guide at that. TGC tours should get together a group of reviewers and should have the reviewed courses on the course list, as they did before. It was pretty much the goto guide for everyone and was very well appreciated. If theres any possible way to find the silver lining in the glut of 60,000 courses I really think TGC Tours should lead the way. Is there any possibility of getting together a group here of reveiwers, have them team up and work together and start reviewing courses again?

I imagine because there is a large amount of courses that are submitted and it takes quite a bit of time to do.

There were many reasons beyond the time aspect that the Reviews and 'scores' were removed. I don't want to get into the specifics, but don't expect TGCTours to get back into scoring or rating courses
Just to clarify what the reviewers do today...we basically sort the courses into Not Approved, and Approved (will be listed on the site).

What Dale said is correct. TGCTours Reviewers are now tasked with approving or not approving courses and are basically there to make sure that we don't end up with 60,000 autogen courses on our list. Any course that is mark as approved and on our list is worth a play, in other words.
Beyond that, we want to leave the reviewing/commenting/liking up to the community at large. It creates too many hard feelings otherwise.

Thats really too bad I thought it was a fabulous job and very fair. I didn't realize it was creating hard feelings. There is one giant advantage of having dedicated reveiwers, they actually do the job and get it done. Having reviewing/commenting/liking up to the community at large is great If and when it gets done, but its all voluntary, and I still don't see one single review, just likes or dislikes, and not many of them either. BTW whats exactly is the difference between a like/dislike and a review, more or less a blurb about the course ? Belive me I'm not dragging this out too agree or disagree, its just we had a great system, and now its gone, and frankly I miss it and found it a great help when it was here.

So I went in and there are around 750 courses, and a lot with no reviews at all. Now as far as I understand anyone can review a course correct ? Next thing is the 5 star system, which was used. can it still be used as a basis for a review ? I was going to start with all the oldest courses not reviewed and start from there, writing a short blurb based on the course review guidelines and also using the 5 star rating system.

As a member of the community, you can use whatever rating system you like...you can stick with the previous 5 star system or go with 9/10 or something along those lines. We just don't want to go back to having official and/or sortable numbers. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and thus we wish to leave everyone with the opportunity to form their own opinion.

I enjoyed the old review method as well, but once I started doing reviews myself, I realized how much work it was to keep up with reviews and to keep a team of active, dedicated reviewers. I believe for a course to get a proper "review", it needs to be looked at by at least two people, with a detailed list of pros and cons followed by a well thought out score. As the GNCD gets better, the courses get better. Also, courses that might have been "5star" 4 months ago, might be a 4/5 by today's standards. I liked doing my old critique videos, but after 100 plus episodes, I was getting burnt out! I highly suggest if people want to review courses, write your own user review

I can't even imagine a video review, although I don't know where I would get to watch it anyways, but yes doing reviews is work, but its work that helps everyone. I couldn't agree more about at least two peoples views. I just don't think the new system of likes is helping much, If any at all. I also reviewed Victory Golf Club last night and posted this morning. As the first it was very brief, but as I learn what to write they'll get better, hopefully with a little help.
