Not sure what to count is available on courses available, I heard 60,000, not sure what the actual count is. I've brought this up countless times over at the HB forums, but it doesn't seem to be a priority. It should be at this point, as theres no real good way to find good courses. By good I mean they would be approved here by TGC reviewers. There was talk of a hide feature, and I thought, while maybe not the best way, at least it gave the designers a chance to "pull back" the courses they no longer want out there and maybe redo or bring up to better standards of newer content and anything they might want to add to older courses. Its sort of a two tiered issue, first HB needs to be able to make the option of making courses hidden, second the designers would actually have to go in and do the hiding. Granted theres going to be a lot of designers who just don't care, this is going to take some effort to accomplish. So what do you think we could do to whittle down the large amount of courses available, and maybe make it easier to find good playable courses ?

I have been brainstorming a few ideas to achieve this myself. In the HB forums under general I started a 'Idea for a site...' Thread. May end with those ideas being applied to the TGCTours site to help with course discovery/presentation. Yet to decide what route will be taken, may end up with my own site. At the end of the day the courses list will always be populated by an ever increasing number of courses, the hide option will only help when you click 'other courses by this designer' so you can actually see the courses they want played. I think a site be it a new one or the inevitable improvements that TGCT will implement with or without me is the way forward. Of course all my opinion. Any ideas you wish to contribute to that thread would be greatly received

I'd like the game to be able to implement some sort of filters, like "Show/Hide autogen" and allow designers to delete/ remove some of their courses. While this wouldn't make a huge difference to the number of courses we see, as the vast majority probably just don't care, it would mean that we have far less courses with a front 9 beta, a beta, a completed release and then a final release and so on. I'd like to see exactly how many of the 60,000 plus courses are unique, in the sense that no other version (9 hole/beta/otherwise) has been released.

True true, auto generated sensing is hard or impossible as I'd imagine everyone has a bit of auto generated even if it is hidden green or the auto generated trees etc... And even a 100% auto generated course prob has at least 1 custom tree. Increased filters in game like theme, length, number holes, par, rating, even weather or time of day etc would make the in game course discovery a lot better. Would certainly help, and not everyone uploads their courses to forums... Just think how many gems are hiding away

Lots of Gems I'm sure that none of us even have a hint about. One of the great things about this game is the number of Designers and how there getting better all the time. Its very unfair to the designers to put all the work in(the ones that do put the work in that is) , and then you throw your well intentioned work into a vast array of half done, beta, and one hole wonders, that many of us including me could care less about. Filters could help a great deal, all I know now is finding a good course is pretty much pot luck. I used to fall back onto TGCTours reviews, but even those are gone now replaced with a likes system, which sorry to say just doesn't work. TGCTours had a system and it worked, yes I understand it wasn't keeping up with all the courses being released, but it did help a great deal.

How good would it be if there was an option to submit your course to a separate section, where it would have to be approved by, say, 5 people or whatever? Only 18 hole courses would be allowed to be submitted, and if 4 out of 5 agree that it is good enough, it could go into it's own category? I know this would take a lot of work to implement and could probably be messed with, but just an idea that will never happen.

I think a course review by a body of people would be much better than an individual assessment. I'm not saying one person can't do a review, but sometimes more input and opinions are needed. Good idea !

I'd like a filter by Theme Just go to the listings and filter by theme :-) All the filters at the top of each column work.
