Yeah I get that I take it depends on firmness?

There's quiet a few factors to consider:
- firmness - the club you used & how much it was lofted - slope on the green - wind - etc.

Not sure what happened there. I was saying that you can always take a peek at the ghost balls and see how far they roll out providing you are in the same area as them. Other than that it's an educated guess at best.

I was saying that you can always take a peek at the ghost balls and see how far they roll out... That's one of the reasons why I would like to see no ghost balls available during tournament rounds. I really like them sometimes on casual rounds to see what other players do, but they should be banned from tournaments.

Got ya, I don't really pay much attention to ghost balls as they always seem to be in different wind conditions to me, for eg I never seem to get decent tail wind on par 5s and long 4s and they near always seem to hit further than me which suggests they do but I will try to pay attention from now on thanks.

Just use your heads guys Seriously though, I looked at the figures and remembered some general ideas from Doyleys charts but I want this to be like real golf, I'll do some general calculations in my head and go for it. The chart helped me so much at the start but I wouldn't want to start relying on a formula. If only I could swing straight and putt/chip I would be up there with the best, definitely, maybe.

Because of the latest cockup with the latest update I played my last 36 holes of my web.com tourney having to use the right stick. I just played by sight and feel, it took me a few holes to get used to using the other stick but shot 75, 65 no yardage calculations done at all. It can be done just not on a regular basis

Nate, thanks for the calculator, it helps me a lot (although I'm still playing in CC-D ). I really appreciate your work. I'd like to notice you of a little error in your database. The club suggestion for short distances seems to be partially wrong, e.g. the suggestion for an 68 yards shot is 6i-Pitch-Loft 1, for a 93 yards shot it says 9i-Pitch-Loft 1. According to Doyle's Loft Chart it should actually be the other way around.
