I am playing 'Canada Day' golf with a mate next week in a tournie... apparently it includes a whiskey on the first hole then more shenanigans....
Its alternative shot (team of 2). My partner is a giant, hits it a giants mile. I am a hacker, 18 handicap if Im lucky as I don't play much in Winter,
Do you have to take a certain number of drives each?
Looking forward to it

Wow this is just like in my garage.
Canada day began with shots of Canadian Club whiskey and some Steinlager to keep it balanced. Combined handicap of 16.7, Net counts, you must putt out. Draw off first tee, bodes well. Third beer, 2nd hole, this may be a concern. Haven't played "real" golf in 3 months so thoughts of touch and swing mechanics start plaguing my mind. 4th beer and thoughts of swing mechanics become butt of joke, at my expense. First time in my life where I have actually started a bar tab on a golf course after meagre funds ran out. Front nine we are three over the card, talk of NBA finals gets heated. Hugs and high fives after one of our playing partners, a 71 year old foul, puts his 2nd shot, a driver off the fairway, a foot from the pin. We complete with a Net 65.7, enough for 4th and a golf bag. Long live Canada Day.

My Canada Day celebration is getting some back bacon and Molson, putting on my vinyl LP of Bob and Doug MacKenzie's "Great White North" and sitting around in long underwear and a touque.
