Back in 2K21's reign I released a number of very accurate LiDAR recreations which were to be a part of a collection of many of the best courses in Fife.
I released the Craighead and Balcomie at Crail, the Castle Course on the cliffs above St Andrews, and the Old Course at St Andrews in various guises (144th, 150th, and the first Reverse version). The plan had always been to include the New Course and Jubilee Course at St Andrews on the same plot.
When 2K23 was soon after released, I was extremely dismayed to find that the courses could not be brought through due to their size (the object meters for all of them came in at over 140% in 2K23) so I shelved the project and shifted my attention to the New World to take on Victoria National and Los Angeles Country Club.
I recently found some old TGC2019 files for these courses (2019's meter constraints are very similar to 2K23's and I usually start developing a project in this designer and move on to 2K23 later) where I had built a lot of the surrounding buildings and trees etc, but not done any work on the course and the meter was under 100%
GAME ON!
So for the last couple of months I've benched the Irish courses I'm working on and have been beavering away at getting these all up and running in 2K23.
The Craighead, and Old Course are nearing release with the Balcomie and New Course not far behind. The Jubilee will be a good few weeks down the line.
