I'm curious to read the impressions of those fortunate few who may have been able to purchase a PS5 Pro and have been able to get in some quality seat time with PGA TOUR 2K23. The PS5 Pro, on paper, delivers 61% more TFLOPs, but does that translate into a noticeable improvement in the feel of 2K23? I'd love to read some thoughts from those who have had the benefit of that experience.

Get one before the tariffs hit. They are rumoured to be going up 40% I'm really not all that intent on buying one right now. I would want it to play Gran Turismo 7 and PGA TOUR 2K23, for the most part. I already have an XBox Series X for PGA TOUR 2K23, but I've lost patience with the inconsistent polling of the XBox Elite 2 controller, and even the stock controller for that matter, with this game. I understand that polling is a lot more consistent on the PS5, and I would imagine, even better on the PS5 Pro. I'm just curious as to how much of a bump the swing response and the animation frame rate got with the Pro. If PGA TOUR 2K25 offers VRR support (as in the option to turn vsync off) as it should on the XBox Series X, I don't think I'll really have a need for a PS5 Pro. Forza Motorsport 7 will stand in quite well for Gran Tursimo 7 in that event.

It transformed my enjoyment of the game for me on Xbox’s Series X. If you can you should try one. Cheers

Cheers I do remember you mentioning that a while back and I have not had the opportunity to try the Wolverine V2. I'll see what I can do about that. What concerns me is that my scoring average is about 8 strokes lower on the PC version, using the very same controller. It makes me think it's more about something to do with the way my Series X connects to the internet, as far as my swing inconsistences go. I really need another controller anyway though for multiplayer with my grandson, so I may just go with the Wolverine V2 to fill that need.

With regard to the PS5 Pro, I'm really surprised at how little buzz there is for the this new tier in the family. A lot of the reaction I'm reading to is so far is underwhelming. Maybe that will change when some titles are released that are created with the PS5 Pro in mind?

Sony wants you to pay for a stand for this model. How about you go back to producing something that stands up as manufactured. Dumbest design ever. Fan friendly Sony ain't.

They make you pay extra for the stand!? Wow... even if I was interested in buying a PS5 Pro, I think I'd wait for the price for it to drop, and maybe Sony can see their way clear to offering a bundle that would include the stand.

$700 base for this no disc included. Regular PS5 on sale about 70 bucks cheaper than when introduced. Talk about incremental improvements this one takes the cake.

$700 base for this no disc included. Regular PS5 on sale about 70 bucks cheaper than when introduced. Talk about incremental improvements this one takes the cake. As hardware goes isn't overpriced. A 2tb MVMe and a dual sense controller alone will hit you for about £170 here in the UK. So take the controller off the price and you have a really good NEW bit of kit for under £600, definitely worth the price as you couldn't get a comparable PC for under a grand. The price of a mid range graphics card would cost you £600. Now talking about the original PS5, it's been out 4 years and is actually more expensive than release price in the UK. Now that's wrong, you could probably get 4 year old PC parts for nearly half of their release price. The PS5 Pro is a niche product, made for people who want next gen tech like ray tracing and quality upscaling which equates to better picture quality and framerates, it isn't made for the casual console gamer. I won't be buying one as the PS4 Pro is my last Playstation but it's good to have a choice in the console market for a higher end product. I don't know why people are making such a big deal about it. I do agree the stand is a complete rip off but isn't this the same scenario as with the PS5 and a separate stand also. The PS5 Pro is £660 right now on sale, well worth the money imo if you don't have a PS5, it is the crazy price of the games for the Playstation that puts me off. £70 for new games, no thanks I will stick to PC gaming.

Well I guess I got a great deal on my PS5 then. I paid $400 for the digital version. The Pro is $700. So for $300 I would get what exactly? Sorry I don't think they added $300 more value to the machine.

Sorry I don't think they added $300 more value to the machine. Then obviously you are not the market they are aiming for. Like I said it's for a niche market. If I was going to get a PS5 I would definitely go for the Pro version as I care about framerates and picture fidelity. I am that person that always hits ultra settings and Ray Tracing or path tracing if my GPU can handle it. Choice is good, I will never knock that as technology gets old very quickly.

I am not the market to be sure. I am not buying a $2000 65 inch 4K television set either. Just like there isn't enough content to support a purchase like that there aren't enough good games coming to support paying nearly double for the PS5 Pro. My opinion you're entitled to yours.
