The feature improvements that most effect us here are the 8 way floating dpad and hall effect precision thumb sticks. The thumb sticks have a drift correction program along with customizable sensitivity. It remains to be seen if the customizable sensitivity will cause some additional TGC rules to be made. Best Buy has a debut online sale on the controller for US 99 so go lock and load.

Tbh I have been gaming since the Spectrum C64 era and have never once experienced stick drift so to me that really isn't a selling point for a controller. The manual sensitivity setting which the V2 also has is more about slowing or speeding the sticks up like a mouse dpi setting does and nothing to do with making it easier to hit a straighter back and forward motion by making it less sensitive. It's more for slowing down your aiming marker in first person shooters really, that why it has a clutch control. Tbh the V2 is the hardest of all controllers that I have tried to hit straighter shots, the stick is very loose compared to the G7 which is really stiff in comparison. The V2 does require a faster tempo also than any controller I have used with this game. Every controller has it's benefits and caveats except Microsoft controllers which are pretty much useless for this game tempo wise.

Yep never tested without the meter on the screen,Let's hope going forward it's more on the gameplay than which controller you use.

Online competitive play has always been about the peripheral you are using. I doubt many people are playing esports or online competitive first person shooters using a 125hz polling rate office mouse.

Couldn't agree more, the V2 is terrible for swing plane, but great for tempo, as you say with a very fast but repeatable swing. Xbox controllers are of course useless for this game.

I loved that the V2 was terrible at swing plane. I used this to load up on my backswing and avoid using tempo while swinging by using the momentum of the stick to give a full swing every time. I did this with putting too until 2K fixed the loophole, which is why I am struggling with putting right now. I finished the first round of the exhibition tournament at +9. I am looking for the loophole in the V3 controller that will allow me to play the game without using tempo.

Is there a learning curve to be expected every time you pick up a new controller even if it is the follow on to the model you were just using?

If you're looking for some cheat way or loophole for getting around tempo with the V3 save your money as it is an expensive controller. Hall effect sticks are more a durability benefit rather than anything else, maybe the sticks are a bit stiffer in the V3 but I haven't read that they are in reviews of the controller.

Is there a learning curve to be expected every time you pick up a new controller even if it is the follow on to the model you were just using? Probably not if using the same models. The Wolverine V2 and V2 Chroma play pretty similar but I slightly prefer the sticks on the Chroma with their metal shafts, tempo wise both controllers need that faster tempo. The Gamesir G7 requires a much slower tempo than the V2 but all just about learning that slower tempo and developing muscle memory (it has taking me about 2 weeks to get used to that slower tempo). The sticks are much stiffer on the G7 and that really suits my right thumb horizontal swing, so it is the controller that fits right for me and the only one I will be using from now on. I will also say that people calling out that these are advantage controllers or you are cheating if you don't use an Official Sony or Microsoft controller do not have a clue what they are talking about. They perform pretty much the same in regards to polling rate (latency) as both the DualSense and DualShock controllers. So all 4 of these mentioned controllers are great for this game. Official Microsoft controllers are disadvantage controllers especially if you're playing cross platform societies and TGCTours.

I have the same experience with the ps5 dual shock. Would be interested to hear what people think is the 'best' ps5 controller for a straight swing plane. Tempo I can train.

The Razer Wolverine V2 is the toughest controller to hit straight swingplane and by some margin also. The PS Dual Sense is easier, but these controller sticks get looser over time so swingplane gets tougher the looser they get.

I got a Wolverine about a year ago and it changed my life (golf speaking). I was struggling on CC-D and a year later I'm on Kinetic and competing. I still hit it offline once and a while, but tempo-wise, it's so much cleaner than my old regular XB controller.
