Groenhove Bos is my National Treasure entry. It's said that Harry S. Colt designed Utrecht de Pans by walking through the forest, routing the course in a day, and then removing trees to bring the holes to life. I took this idea to heart when putting this course together. Based heavily on Utrecht de Pans and St. George's Hill, Groenhove Bos ( translated: Groenhove Woods) is located about 30 minutes outside Bruges, Belgium. Colt was known for bringing links-style design principles inland, and this course has attempted to do just this; carved out of a heavily forested area the land remains wild, fairways are firm, fast, and (very) bumpy, greens were built into the natural features resulting in some false fronts and fun internal slopes. You'll see cross-bunkers, centerline bunkers, and some waste bunkers for visual intimidation. The course has (mostly) wide fairways, and while not overly long, angles matter—this course is meant to be good fun for both long hitters and high-handicappers alike, so crank up the wind and enjoy. Don't forget to stop by the clubhouse for a cold one and some Côte à l'os fresh off the BBQ on the patio.

Really enjoyed your Groenhove Bos. Very solid routing, planting and sculpturing. Loved the undulations on fairway and green. The private forest course vibe was nice. Good luck with the NT comp. Cheers
