I don't know about the Series S, but I find the game unplayable in Quality mode on the Series X. The feedback is just way too sparse. |

I don't know about the Series S, but I find the game unplayable in Quality mode on the Series X. The feedback is just way too sparse. Can confirm unplayable on Quality mode. It's not really all that much of a step up in quality either, in "Quality" mode. I have to focus on certain aspects to spot the difference. Even in Performance mode though, I find the game lacking the responsiveness I'd like to feel out of the swing. All too often I get what feels like random results out of my swing because of what I would attribute to lag issues. I have the PC version of the game that I play using the same screen and the same modem/router as the XBox Series X version and it delivers a much more consistent performance with the feel of the swing. I'm able to run the graphics at 1440p on the PC which helps me maintain a solid 60 FPS. I wish we had the ability to cut more graphics options on the XBox version for those who wanted a more consistent performance out of it. I think a 1080p option for the XBox Series X/S would go a long way to answering a lot of my gripes about the inconsistent performance I find in it. |

The thing is on Series X on performance anything over 150 yards looks more like 720p than 1080p. It is really jarring and there is a horrible use of DOF that you can't turn off. There is quite a bump up of visual fidelity on PC v Xbox performance mode. The lighting is much better, fog shadows etc. The thing is it is not that a demanding game so the Series X should look and perform better. I just think it has been really poorly ported. Though the PC version is not perfect either, there are definitely problems with VRR and annoying hitching when it should just be smooth. I have a 4080 super and hit really high framerates at native 4K TAA but it does not run as smooth as it should. The swing is very responsive at high framerates though. |
