Hi all,
Enjoyed this game/ community a few years back but out of the loop now. Just got the game now for the deck but have no idea how to measure distance for putts. I have seen vibration mentioned but there is no vibration on the deck. Any tips/ advice is welcome please?

You could spend some time on the practice green. That's what I did, and it seemed to help.
Apparently, if you practice putt and get the pace right, the % meter will turn white so you know it's in the ballpark (that's my understanding, I haven't done it myself).
Ultimately, judging the length of your backswing properly is the key.
I've found that it's much harder to judge partial shots around the green without the vibration, especially chipping.

Thanks for the reply. Finding it impossible to hit putts inside 20 feet. Everything shoots by the hole. Am I dumb or doing some wrong? The distance for the putter is 147, I take it that cannot be changed? Rubbing the thumb stick still equates to 20/30% for me. Thanks

Thanks Use the full camera for putting as it gives a much better view of your putting backstroke. Remember that 147 in this game is very fast, so even a 2 inch downhill putt requires little more than just getting the putt started on 20 footers and below and way more break is needed on downhill putts also. It does need practice but I have never ever used vibration and have no problem with putting pace. It's way more fun when you work it out for yourself rather than being told how hard to hit your putt.

It is all muscle memory, hit the chipping practice area, you will even start to get good at 50 yard partial pitch shots if you practice them. Take those bike stabilisers off and riding a bike becomes more fun I play legend and got up and down every time in my last TAN tournament, I am just saying this as the game has such a great challenge that few seem interested in. I am an average sim player but have always been good at putting no grids. You don't need vibration you never have needed it in any HB golf game, it was brought in as a training aid and is just an extension of the swing meter which funnily enough you can actually lock off in society difficulty settings. I don't play the game much but partial shots are certainly not as hard as people make out.

Right, I'm still in the "getting used to it" phase without vibration (a few days now). But so far, the putting has been easier than the partials.
Hopefully, I'll figure that part out fairly quickly. 🤞🤞

If you can adjust to the slower tempo that the auto intent gives you (I play no marker so it's auto intent or 100%) you can really start to hit some great pitch shots and it feels great when they come off. Spend an hour on the chipping area and you will be surprised how quickly you get the hang of it. Sand shots that are under 20 yards you need to loft and spin up as the ball will really roll out otherwise but you have to hit those shots harder also, it doesn't take long to get good at them. Longer sand shots are more difficult but then again those long greenside sand shots are the most difficult in real golf also. it is really hard to master those but I like to not use loft and the ball rolls forward like a chunk and run sand shot.

Hopefully, I'll figure that part out fairly quickly. 🤞🤞 Also it might not be your thing but you will always be welcome to play the TAN society, we do have a pretty good handicap system which you'll get after 4 rounds so it is not about how good you are but more about playing the sim aspect of the game and that real life society vibe. Big major week at Nolia so a good chance to see how you get on with the toughest setting on the game, you will be surprised how much fun it is I just work on the boards but the guys that set up the courses and the conditions are real masters and we have a few top class designers in the team also. Nothing is tricked up, we just play realistic courses and set ups.
