Dear TST enthusiasts, I have to save some Texan courses for later in the season, so I'm taking this opportunity to take you up north to Nebraska. There, we play our Austin Open at the wonderful Gil Hanse masterpiece CapRock Ranch, by our good friend metatropic . This course provides some views you would only expect to see while hiking, but it also serves up 18 holes of pure golfing joy. Have fun and good luck, Frans |

Off and away with 8 birdies and a bogey which seems to be half decent looking at the very early scores .... Onward!

Wind did for me in round 2 ... 5 birds 2 bogies and a double to leave me 8 under thru two rounds

7 birds and two chip-in eagles for an 11 under round 3.
Followed by a 6 birdie 1 bogey (18th) last round including missing two easy Birdie putts cus I was too lazy to check the break 🙈
24 under total for another middle of the pack tournament

My first round on True-Sim in a long time. Great to see this course on tour. Handed me my ass on the closing stretch. Do I need to do anything to appear on the leaderboards? TGC tours page says I have a card....

Quite please with my opening effort despite back to back Humphs on 7 & 8. -5 on a great and challenging course.
Round 2 was tougher with the higher wind. -3 is all I could muster.
Onward!

I should really consider warming up before playing my TST rounds...   Round 1: -8 One stupid bogey, solid for the rest of the round Round 2: -7 Played too conservative - bogey-free but lots of missed opportunities Round 3: -12 Got into it Round 4: -12 Auto-pilot really Total: -39 LOVE THIS COURSE!! And I don't care that this might get me into trouble but reading a comment by one of the so-called "top-designers" that this course lacked proper planting and looked wrong... I can only laugh about that. |

I can only laugh about that. Nice shooting Frans. I’m flat out in a few other games at the minute but the name of this one intrigued me so I played the first round to check it out. Same as you, I absolutely loved it. Really nice design! Enjoyed it. |

Love the course, the putting green didn't love me back...
-4, +3 and awful putting has me at -1 at half.

Loved playing this course in True Sim; I'm a definite convert, CC is gonna feel like cheating now. Thanks Frans for picking "my" course; clearly Mr Hanse gets the real credit here, what an incredible place this is!
Had a much better second half of the week. Couldn't read a putt in round 4, but managed to get to -2 for tourney playing the last. Choked into the bunker, splashed out and then 3 putted. Ouch.

Okay, so.
I started off the weekend journey at -1 after 2 rounds.
I was +2 after 3 holes in round 3.
Proceeded out after that to be fine, was -2 at the turn of the nines.
Then something happened. Not sure what, but ended up shooting a -11 back nine of 25 to finish -13 for 58. Had I not had a near miss chip that was a foot to the left, and missed a putt a couple inches from the hole that same direction, that back nine would have stood at -13, with 4 eagles in a row. First round this season in the 50s, believe that's 6 up on my best round so far this season.
Then a very extremely ordinary seeming -5 to finish on -19. Anything would be like that after what happened only a short bit before that.
