Hi all. I am a returning player from tgc days and my queries is that I have gone on to pro settings (pro vision off) and I am not getting the maths at all mainly because the UI says 167 yds to pin and club says 161 yds but with lie penalty of 68 to 72% from the rough but the aim marker is 1 yd short of the hole at 166yds. So what is the aim marker telling me because there is no elevation and wind is tame at 2mph L to R. Is the aim marker a suggestion point to start your calculations from. For the life of me it won't twig. On a approach shot from the fairway it seems pretty straight forward but with lie penalties a lot of times it doesn't make sense. I do hope somebody can shed some light as I am flummoxed....totally.

I am pretty sure aim marker only effects distance with putting (but not if you use the no marker setting like I do, as it is locked on putting). For other shots pulling it back towards you effects your backswing speed and the slower required tempo needed when changing that backswing speed. It is there to help you make partial shots. The Devs call the marker your intent and the game does auto intent and pick your club so the marker will be moved towards you for certain shots. You can just reset it to 100% by changing club and then back to your selected club. |
