I'm going to say nobody is getting anywhere near -60 this week and Craig's score is very close to the, if not THE, winning score... It's a beautiful course but it also exposes my weaknesses... especially when there's no wind to speak of... Round 1: -2 Round 2: -5 Round 3: -7 Frans have you seen how good some of these guys are now? I have to try some psychological warfare to keep up! 😂

Blindfolded always gets a nibble Although to be honest, with a flat screen, you may as well be Ok I'll nibble again , turn off the grids and you have the best interpretation of putting in any video game. A great challenge but not too hard also, I do admit I do see a lot more breaks with my LG C2 42 inch used as my computer monitor and HDR makes a big difference also. HB have really got the putting spot on in this game, the downhill mechanics are a little too aggressive for my liking but what a fantastic challenge no grids putting is. You have days where everything drops and others when nothing drops and you just can't smash those putts 6 or 7 foot past the hole if you don't want to risk that dreaded 3 putt from a makeable birdie putt. Putting has always been the best mechanic in all HB's golf games. Le's hope they don't ruin it in a future game. Credit where it’s due. I’ll lay the boot into HB More than anyone but the putting on true sim in these games has always been by far my favourite part and the mechanic they’ve really got nailed. It’s just miles beyond any other golf game. Tbh it’s probably the reason I’ve put so many hours into these games over the years. I think Frans (and the guys in the other societies) also do a great job picking courses with greens and slopes that allow the putting to shine too.

Couldn't quite take full advantage of the wind in the final round... Round 4: -7 Total: -21 Really need to learn how to play without the wind though...

HB have really got the putting spot on in this game, the downhill mechanics are a little too aggressive for my liking but what a fantastic challenge no grids putting is. You have days where everything drops and others when nothing drops and you just can't smash those putts 6 or 7 footers past the hole if you don't want to risk that dreaded 3 putt from a makeable birdie putt. Putting has always been the best mechanic in all HB's golf games. Le's hope they don't ruin it in a future game. You see you say “not too hard”. But. I’ve listened to advice, watched video’s and I still find it pretty much a lottery. But I’m prepared to put up with that just to try something different. Legend just made the short game a lottery also and I wasn’t prepared to persevere with that so slipped away quietly. I know you are talking about your perspective but I am talking in general. If you compare putting stats to those that generally are good at putting without grids their putting stats are better than the top scoring putting stats on the PGA Tour. The putting is just right difficulty wise and it's the best part of my game, gets me out of trouble at times as I am forever fighting the push and pull with the long game on legend difficulty. Just watch Craig / Hendomedes last stream on Twitch on TAN Sainte Bernarde where he hit -8 because he holed virtually everything, he says he is lucky in the stream but there is nothing lucky about it because it is all 100% feel for distance and reading the putts correctly. Sorry you are not feeling it for no grids greens but for a lot of people legend just brings in a much better challenge tee to green than master where it can be just too forgiving for poor shots but I agree it's not for everyone on TST so master difficulty is the best way to go as there is a huge diversity in peoples skills on TST. As you say there a few society that play sim legend now.

Breaking News! This thread is about our trials and tribulations on PGA West this week on TGCT TST.
Rd 1 -2
Rd 2 -1
-3 at the turn, not stellar but under par I will always take.
Onward!

Only bogey of round 2 came on the 18th to drop me back to 8 under and 19 under at the halfway stage. As Art would say onward!

7 under thru 6 holes in round 3 and the game crashed on me 🤬 loaded back up and the overhead view and deep rough had turned a different colour? Yellow instead of dark green. Weird but managed to keep my concentration and finished 11 under for the round.... Squeaky bum time! 😂
Standard choke in the last round couldn't hit it close enough with my approaches and burnt some edges with long putts 3 under front 9, 3 over back 9 for a level par last round.

Shoutout to zzfr33b1rdzz for starting with a seven under on Xbox. Great shooting mate, that’s as good as I’ve seen you post on here and there’s definitely danger around that course 👍 Thanks Craig, Everything aligned that round, gave a few back in round 2..

If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same; If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
It is now obvious that Kipling played TST. He would obviously have been in the more casual camp. Round One started with a missed tiddler from nowhere and went mostly downhill from there. A chip in eagle doesn't erase a four-putt from four feet. A ragtag bag of crap with five bogies and a bonus triple balanced with four birdies and an eagle. When it came to trying to read the greens they might as well have been in Cyrillic script. Probably the back to back birdies to finish +2 put a modicum of sparkle on an old school TST round for me.
Round Two was an entirely different kettle of fish. Approaches close enough to make it nearly impossible for me to miss (I did say nearly) fairway after fairway hit. I think in the end it was a blemish free -9 to put me close to a normal halfway score. It is always what it is. I deserved every good and bad break. It is always a rush to see whether it is Doctor Jekyll or Mr Hyde that turns up on the tee.
