There's talk of gta6 being 30fps, I hope it isn't. With the level of graphics fidelity they are shooting for on consoles, it'll probably need to be, not to crap on consoles too much, but there's only so much they can do, and they frequently have to scale back a lot to hit 60fps

Don't the consoles support AMD's low framerate compensation for VRR supported games. I would much rather that than a 30fps cap which is horrid.I have an ROG Ally and it is very smooth even at lower framerates in the 30's because of LFC which doubles the frames under the 48hz limit to keep inside the VRR range. We are in 2023, so many TV's have VRR now with hdmi 2.1. I have been using GSync on PC since it was released 10 years ago. I hate the limitations of VSync and capped 30fps framerates. Cinema experience, nah it's a poor gaming experience.

The 30fps is bad news for me if it happens, it's just awful on the eyes, I've got paid games I won't play like ghost recon wildlands stuck at 30 fps, they updated ghost recon breakpoint which is excellent on the ps5 at 60 fps, yes with graphics loss, I'd gladly take 60 fps gta6 with not perfect graphics and buy that.....let's face it we're all going to buy gta6 when it's finally perfect on the playstation 6 in about 2030, or the latest xbox, so 60fps with lesser graphics I'm fine with.

Got to say, I'm happier with the amazing graphics and 30fps 🤷
For me every game so far has looked great, sounded great and played great. You lot are hard to please! And every game has arguably been the best game of its generation. I don't expect this one to be any different.

I'm excited too, if i'm to list the 3 best games i've ever played it be GTA V, GTA IV and GTA San Andreas.
I don't have a PS 5, but come 2025 i'll buy one just to play this.

I find 60fps a necessity in more twitch or reaction based games but in stuff like this, or, for example Alan Wake 2 which I’m playing atm, I find a solid 30 to be absolutely fine. I can’t imagine rockstar releasing a game that runs poorly even if it is 30fps. And it looks incredible. TGCT gang in gta6 online?! 😏

TGCT gang in gta6 online?! 😏 Xbox supports Freesync with LFC so not sure why everyone with a VRR monitor or TV has to accept 30hz.The Freesync range is 48hz to 120hz so if frames drop below 48hz LFC duplicates frames to fit inside the range so the game always feels smooth. The ROG Ally has a 120hz VRR screen with LFC and it is awesome. Also 30hz on an OLED with it's super fast response rate feels much worse than on an 30hz on an LCD screen. Actually a fixed 40hz on a 12ohz screen is massively better, I could probably tolerate that but to me 30hz feels awful on my OLED's.

Stuff like racing games or golf I can feel the input delay and see it in the visuals. Alan Wake 2 for example I can see it a little but I don’t feel noticeable lag. Red Dead 2 even though I know it runs at 30fps if you put a gun to my head I can’t feel the difference on it or see it. I’d swear blind it was 60. Whereas something like Redfall looks and feels horrendous at 30. I did read a digital foundry thread about it recently that said frame timings make a big difference with input delay and some games at 30 are much better than others in that regard but beyond that I understood it about as much as a dog reading a newspaper 😆

I’m an N64 guy. Give me 24 fps with frequent drops to 3 fps whilst I’m rocket launching Boris and I’m still happy.
But yeah, steady framerate is most important to me. Whether it’s 60 or 30, as long as it’s steady…!
