Can't start a round

I have had a recurance of a problem that I thought was solved. When I try to start a round I get to the "start game" and it locks up and I have start over again. However I remembered what I did before. Instead of choosing "Competative" I went into casual and chose Training. I took a couple of shots on the driving range then went back to competative and proceded as normal and went into "start game", and it works OK. I know this  sounds weird but it works.
 I think it is something to do with a graphics update. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a better way to solve it?

I am now having constant hang ups again on my PC. It comes at various points, usually when setting up round. The "driving range fix" that I mentioned in my last post doesn't seem to be working now. I was playing this morning for a couple of rounds, no problem. After a break I wanted to continue but the crashing started again. The thing that occurred to me was that it coincided with a message from Norton. Can  a security program running in the background cause hang ups. It is very frustrating.
