This is my entry into the Major competition for 2023. The TGC Major has been awarded to North of the Border Tour located just 30 miles west of Kamloops, British Columbia in Canada. Both versions of the course have 4 pins and 4 tee sets that are manipulated for tour scheduling and measure out at roughly 7,200 yards. Default green speeds are at 171 but the course was designed and tested to easily handle 186's so crank them up along with the wind speeds. The course offers a wide variety of shot choices and although the greens seem relatively tame, it can be difficult if you get above the hole or have the wrong angle of approach. Panoramic views are awesome at North of the Border so enjoy. Below are the suggested tournament settings: Round 1 2 3 4 Pin 3 1 4 2 Tees green black red gold Wind direction E S NE NW Wind Speed Def H VH H Green Speed Def VF Def VF Default are at 171 Lighting Def Clear Def Def Time of Day Default all 4 days Good luck to all contestants.

How dare you non Canadians attempt to create Canadian courses! What makes you qualified? First you want our water and our oil and our hockey teams and our attractive country music singers...now you want our golf courses too? BAH!
In all serious, where did you get your inspiration from? Have you been to Kamloops (I have not) or did you search for photos online? Cause man you did a very very good job with the setting. I saw your post and the photos and liked them and then when I played a round, my expectations were blown away!
I played the non major version because I don't like participating in Sadistic/Machoistic dynamics first thing in the morning and was looking for a chilled round.
Really nice work on the vistas, the city skylines with the mountain backdrop and the tree lines really worked for me. The fire station training tower which came into view on the back nine was something I don't think I have seen before and was great. Clubhouse was unique and I liked the way the earlier holes were routed around it which was also something a little unique.
The overgrown barrancas or low areas were very nice and the way the trees and vegetation grew out of the rocky shield was just class. And I liked how you incorporated some of those natural features as hazards on a few holes.
I judge a course by how many bridges it has and if they are in play so I can play my trick shots off them and try to still make par and there were definitely a few to be found.
Not a huge fan of ponds in front of greens as I feel it is too targety and manufactured difficulty but the holes which had them also allowed for some creative ground approaches to navigate them if desired. Well played and the ponds themselves were quite appealing. Side tangent, has anyone ever hit a duck with a golf ball in this game? I have hit cows before and sometimes you can get a funny bounce off of them. I pulled a Speith at the masters and duffed a pitch like 20 yards into the pond on 2 or 3 and noticed Ducks floating along minding their own business. So naturally I then thought, "Next round I am going to try to chip off of one onto the green if that is possible." Course was lacking in Moose, Beavers and Eagles though I must say.
Par 3 green sites were awesome, I especially liked the one that was perched on its own little clifftop with the surrounding holes above and below on either side. Par 5s played great too.
Just a classy publish Sir and I am looking forward to future rounds and some late night Sadism/Machoism on the major version. Best of luck in the contest, I hope this does well!

Thanks for the detailed feedback.Much appreciated. Actually I am Canadian (East coast) and I visited the Kamloops area about 40 years ago and loved the environment. There was a moose on 4, 36 squirrels as my trademark, a couple of deer, an elk, 6 eagles and multiple ducks. You have a good eye.Never hit a duck but have hit several squirrels.....It's not pretty. Again....glad you enjoyed your round.

Really nicely done, mate. Probably leaned on the easier side of the major courses, but that's no issue. It's the kind, Canadian way, right? Almost had an eagle, as in literally almost hit an eagle. Loved the tight routing and views of holes past and future. Good luck in the comp.

Huh, you see I was thinking of making you an honorary Canadian after that publish but turns out you are a full fledged citizen. That explains it now. Well great, by my count that is now 4 on here. We should start a society of courses that could be in Canada or designed by Canadians lol

Bumping this. Don't care what anyone says, course has a killer environment and planting. Sightlines look great from pretty much every angle throughout the round and shot values are very fun. Member's version I am talking here, just go out and play it people, you won't regret it.
