Against my better judgement, but intrigued how it would go, seeing the Good Doctor's mbuenger excellent Jefferson on the schedule and wishing to support the hard work the Admin's put in I set out on the journey of legends. Hanging on for most of the time but reasonably happy at the undoubted missed cut with a pair of -1's. After not really playing much TST lately I'll take it. Two silly swim's, both easily avoidable, tarnished things a little. Was determined to slow my play down but failed. Edit. Just reread intro. Not cut so I’m into the latter stages. Neat 👍 EditOfEdit. One thing I didn’t do was 4 putt so that’s a bonus! No way would you be missing the cut at 2 under even if there was a 70 and ties cut. Well played.

Near the bottom of the Leader board but found it very enjoyable, only thing i find frustrating are the par 3s it seems to me the tolerance of the tee with irons is no where near the same as the driver, found the Par 3s much tougher, not sure its picked my scores up playing on PC but in the end does not matter.Just a note on course Design it is amazing on Legend how many bunkers come into play which you feel would never do.

That's a good point. I find the same. Driver is much more forgiving than irons on legend. Maybe because our target area with the irons is generally much smaller. And also agree on the fact legend misses bring in more appreciation for the course design. I think on lower difficulties a lot of the time were so tight you could really be playin any course and it doesn't matter so much. Glad quite a lot seem to be enjoying it as well

Glad quite a lot seem to be enjoying it as well Don't you find that 3 wood is much easier to hit straight than driver. I also find swingplane to be pretty tough with driver if you're slightly off, those little pushes are punishing. I am sure that's because you are aiming for a smaller target in a green it feels more punishing than driver.I find it much harder to hit a drivable par 4 with a driver than and iron for instance. But long irons and fairway woods require more skill on legend than master which is really quite forgiving and that's a great thing. But in my experience driver is definitely the hardest club for accuracy off the tee on legend. I always take the wood or iron for accuracy on tricky tight fairway holes.

Strangely enough, I find hitting loooooong drives straight easier than 100% ones.... had quite a few drives where I only focused on tempo and they came out as perfects or close enough to perfect BUT in the 106-110% range. Then again, I also overshot a lot of irons and none of those were anywhere near perfect... but still long (which didn't help at all on those shots)...

I wonder if it's anything to do with forgiveness in the fitting because i find irons of the Tee near impossible but 7 times out of 10 Driver does ok...I have never understood how the fitting works but maybe less distance and easier clubs maybe the way to go on Legend setting. It would be interesting to me what sort of clubs top players use but then again most of it is all down to the controller as well.

I always take the wood or iron for accuracy on tricky tight fairway holes. I think it could be a mixture of my pretty generous timing and swingplane fittings on my driver (as yeltzman says) and also yeah the larger target area coupled with the fact I try and play pretty smart and away from danger. I can't compete with the top guys tee to green on swingplane and tempo so I try and think my way into a good score. So for instance first thing I do on the tee is pull left trigger to get a high view of the hole and if I see the fairway slopes right to left I'll aim for right edge knowing a push or a slow will probably feed down. Whereas with irons I probably don't have that safety blanket. If that makes sense. I'm the anti-Frans though. Anything over 102 and my swingplane exits stage right 🤣

For me it is definitely swingplane with the driver and my driver does have swingplane fittings. I definitely feel driver is much more punished for swingplane than any other club in the bag. For me it's a near guaranteed fairway hit with fairway wood or iron, definitely not with driver. My tempo is very good in the game since I changed to the Razer which really helps with distance control, though that swingplane is a b%&, I found that part of the game easier to be consistent with on the Dual Sense 5 controller. I keep thinking I'll switch back but I am playing pretty well right now. Looking forward to TST this week, I nearly forgot that I have to get my first 2 rounds in by the end of tomorrow.

I've played this course a lot (at Master) and it's amazing how different I played it on legend. The shots over/around water were looked at in a whole different light. Still manged to wet a few though!

I have to say I really enjoyed my 1st round. I’m not worried about scoring yet as I’m adjusting with the change. And good move for the change!
TGC Tours gets a 👏👏👏👏👏

Finished up the week where I started - Even!!
Few lessons learned in Rounds 1 and 2 forgotten in Round 3 with the trademark 4 putt from within 15 feet!! Overly aggressive. Got to learn to be a bit less ham fisted on the putting surface. Sunk a 50 footer though so that felt good even allowing for the fact it was a complete fluke.
3 rounds under par so that's a start.
Verdict? Surprised myself and enjoyed it. I'll be back.

Checked it out and looked at the leaderboard. With so many familiar names on there and plenty of players overall, I just couldn't resist.
Cracking course and really enjoyed my first round.
With various societies / tours, I've got loads of rounds to play each week at the moment but with dark winter evenings on the way...what else is there to do?
I find putting so hard on this setting but putting shouldn't be easy!
Great stuff.
Cheers all. Good luck out there.

Should be -14 but showing as minus -13 on the leaderboard in the screenshot lol maybe it just hadn't processed yet? This happens to me all the time... 18th hole is always disregarded on the leaderboard and only processes after very slowly and carefully leaving the society, and even then it sometimes doesn't. Been like that for months now.
