Just fired this up.
Hole 1 - this is a brute of a starting hole. 50 feet uphill, and basically no "safe" landing area for any club due to a really narrow, cutoff fairway. I hit 3-wood, which I think is the only real play. But this left me a 171 yard shot that was 34 feet uphill. The ball then comes in at such a low angle due to the uphill nature of the shot, that even a 7-iron I hit into the green with a bit of loft added, rolled thru it.
Hole 2 - didn't quite see the need for all that fairway short right off the tee. I don't know when that would ever get used. The left greenside bunker needs a bit of work with sculpting.
Hole 3 - the third straight uphill hole. The green here feels a bit too small and a bit too undulating for a 220 yard par-3 like this. The pin I played (Pin 1) is set just beyond a red slope that runs balls back down to the front of the green, so any ground game options when trying to get the ball close will be rejected.
Hole 4 - the left fairway bunker seems kind of removed from the hole. I am not sure it's necessary.
Hole 5 - the slope of the fairway may be too dramatic...I hit a tee shot to the center of the fairway with perfect tempo...and was sent into rough. Green seemed kind of large for a hole that's just over 400 yards long and needed just a pitch into it.
Hole 6 - while this one is 38 feet downhill, it's the exact same yardage (220 yards) as the par-3 Hole 3. This green feels super flat compared to others I've seen so far.
Hole 7 - a 282 yard par-4...this honestly feels like another par-3 to me. There's no way you're ever laying back on this.
Hole 8 - the green on this hole now feels super aggressive with a red-sloped shelf running thru the middle.
Hole 9 - this one's OK, but the par-5s so far have really not made me feel like I ever have to make a decision about going for it in two or laying up.
Hole 10 - this is a neat short-4...good use of the elevation, and the fairway has some cool undulation to it.
Hole 11 - the fairway here again feels overdone in terms of sloping...I hit another solid tee shot to the fairway, but the huge hump of it kicked my ball into the heavy rough. I get that it can happen in real golf, but some of the fairway sculpting is a bit over the top on a few holes.
Hole 12 - this one's another OK short-4.
Hole 13 - this is the third par-3 that's almost the exact same distance (this one is 221, but those other two I mentioned are 220).
Hole 14 - I hit a wedge into the center of the green on my approach shot, but the really large yellow, orange, and red slopes ran the shot off the green. Felt overly penal here.
Hole 15 - another OK par-5...they have kind of all felt the same, though.
Hole 16 - another potentially drivable par-4...this one does have a bit more danger, so it works better than the previous one.
Hole 17 - this one's OK. bunker is kind of oddly placed, but it's a fine par-3.
Hole 18 - An almost 500 yard par-4, and the fairway is super tight at driver distance. Because of the narrow fairway, I hit another driver that landed dead in the middle of the fairway, but got sent into rough.
Overall, there's a cool environment here, and some interesting holes. Some of the hole styles felt a bit repeated after a while, especially the 3-par-3s that were 220/221 yards long. Bunkers throughout the course need some attention with sculpting, but I know this is still an early beta. I would also maybe tone down some of the fairway sloping a bit...they can still provide some challenge, but as they are now, the slopes are just there to kick you into danger.
Hope this helps!
