I was one of many that purchased the game when it first came out last year. Almost a year later, I feel as though 2K has somewhat abandoned the game. Quite a few things are broken, and I do not feel as though they will ever truly be fixed. I think the last actual game update (not talking about the season updates, or the new characters) was sometime in July. I'm not posting on here to complain, just curious if others feel the same way, or are experiencing similar issues?
Issue #1 - Private Matches with friends - I play this game a few times per week with two friends. We all have stable and fast internet connectivity (connectivity that was never problematic in previous versions of the game, and connectivity that works for streaming services, working from home, etc.). Two of us play on Playstation 5's, and the other on a Playstation 4. We used to play an 18 hole private match on a random course without issue, however, what started happening was at some point during the round (usually the 12th or 14th hole) the friend with the Playstation 4 would get disconnected. He would receive the "sorry you've lost your connection" message and be returned to the home screen of the game, his internet connection never dropped, he was just dropped from the match. So, we started playing 9 hole rounds and that seemed to fix the problem initially. Now, we can usually get through one 9 hole round, but when we play a second round, somewhere between the 5th and 7th hole, he is disconnected. This has been happening so frequently that I cannot remember the last time it was not an issue, if I had to guess, I'd say maybe around May? Not sure if there is some inherent compatibility issue between PS4 / PS5, because when my friend with the PS5 and I play together, we never are disconnected, ever. Not sure if the friend with a PS4 were to play other rounds with other PS4 players if he would have a similar situation, or if he would still be disconnected.
Issue #2 - Society events with live ghosts incredibly slow - Live ghosts have seemingly been a challenger of this version of the game since day one. Around the time that the game was made free via Playstation Plus (end of July / beginning of August) we noticed that playing a Society event together as live ghosts was incredibly slow. For three of us to play one hole together, it was taking 10 minutes or longer. It just seems like one of us will hit a shot, and the other two will see that persons ball land wherever it lands, and just sit loading and loading for several minutes until the next shot. This seems like a 2K server issue, but we have tried multiple times, in multiple societies, multiple courses, etc with no change.
Issue #3 - Divot Derby does not load - Not sure what they did to Divot Derby but the last 4-5 times we have attempted to play, it takes forever to find enough players (this games algorithm seems much different than the previous game), but once players are seemingly matched up, and you get to the loading screen, you just sit there for several minutes as you wait and wait, until finally you start seeing players disconnect. I cannot tell you the last time we were able to successfully play a divot derby event together.
Are other people seeing these issues? I have tried reporting things via 2K Support via email, twitter, and discord with no response. I am not looking for anyone here to fix it, just curious if others are having these issues as well, or others that you feel like sharing.
