To be fair to your computer, the PC optimization of this iteration of the game is pretty bad. I run a XT 7900 XTX card and only run on medium settings. Even so, GPU utilization is 95%+ in MENU screens and whilst playing in 1440. No way this game properly optimized would take that much GPU power. There is something very wrong there as that card should play this game at 4K native TAA max setting way over 100fp. Game plays great on my RTX 4070ti I have never really had any problem with framerates unlike some other recent releases. This is actually one of the few games I don't need to use upscaling to 4K as it runs so well 4K native TAA. And I am assuming you actually mean the RX 7900 XTX? Also every game with unlocked framerate will utilise as much GPU power unless it's bottlenecked by CPU. You can cap framerates in your graphic card control panel settings if you don't want it to run your GPU at max, use vsync also and framerates will not exceed your monitor's refresh rate. Most of the time I am hitting 100% GPU power and hitting quite a bit over 100fps at 4K. That is pretty good framerates with a 4070ti more than double the framerates of many other recent AAA releases I play.

Agreed there must be something very wrong there since my RX 6800 is hovering around 170 fps on ultra settings with 1440p resolution. These games have always been pretty poorly optimized but not that badly.

The game scales down well to lower end PC'S, it actually plays very well on the Steam Deck and looks great on the handheld. There are a wealth of graphic options including upscaling, though the game should have FSR 2 rather than 1. Compare that to EA's game which is a crappy console port with limited graphics settings and no upscaling tech at all. It has horrible stutter on my PC when first loading. It has very negative reviews on Steam for performance on medium to lower spec PC's. I will hold my hands up 2K23 is definitely a poor port on Xbox, graphically it doesn't look great on my Series X in performance and the 30HZ mode is unplayable as the framerates are terrible.

Razer Synapse turned the Halo remasters into a slideshow for me. Try turning off all background programs?

I understand by reinstalling the game the problem stopped. First thing I always do with a major problem is to reinstall any game I am playing, esp. if I just updated it.
Having said that, I also notice I have a similar problem with a couple of other games that use Steam. Red Dead 2 and Call of the Wild but not my goilf game.
Just started this week it seems, so I may uninstall Steam if it persists.
Oh, and then reinstall.

Perhaps not related to anything or anyone here but for those who are using a Radeon card there are serious issues with recent drivers Adrenalin version 23.9.2 and 23.9.3. The only solution for now is going back to Adrenalin 23.9.1 and wait for 23.9.4 which hopefully will fix the problem.

In the last week or so, my fans have started racing. Top of the case feels pretty hot. Never happened before and doesn't happen in any other game.

Hi all, I've noticed that the game has started running choppy for me since the last update, not all the time just on certain shots and during ball flight. I'm running Windows 11 with a GTX 1660 Ti card. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling as suggested but still getting same issues, wonder if anyone else had similar issues and any potential solutions? Never had a problem with the game before that. Thanks

Have you tried rolling back your Nvidia graphics driver? Is the game hitching when playing offline also. Does lowering graphics help at all? Are your framerates spiking at all?

Would you believe I played two rounds last night with perfect frame rates, so maybe the problem is sorted. I'll watch it over the next few days and see if there are anymore glitches. Thanks everyone.

For stuttering issues;
Run (Win key+R) regedit and find the registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER|Software\2K|PGA TOUR 2K23 Change "Screenmanager Fullscreen mode_h3630240806' from 1 to 0.

Worked for me, thank you. Question though, what does changing that setting actually do because my stuttering is now gone?
