I've had a weird thing happen over the last two days;
All of a sudden my framerates have dropped to an unplayable 15-20 FPS in game, I've not changed any of my settings or downloaded any updates for either the game or my PC.
Previously I used to get 80-100 FPS on pretty much Ultra settings, I've tried dialling that back to no avail. I've also had a PC cleanup and have 140GB of storage free.
The processor is an AMD Ryzen 9 3900 XT 12 core - checked the performance of this an no red flags. GPU is a Nvidia 3080, updated the driver but no help there.
I'm not a massive techy so if anyone has some suggestions I'd be really grateful!
Thanks

This happened to Art Vandelay also resolved by uninstalling and reinstalling your game. If you are a designer be sure to save your 2k23 folder just in case you lose your work. Located under my documents/mygames

Reinstalling won't lose your current player file BTW. You should also consider using the free version of Wise registry cleaner @ wisecleaner.com to clear up redundant files and fix registry errors. Need help with that just let me know can walk you through it.

I normally just use that to design on the fly but perhaps it's better for playing on too!

If that doesn't help and you recently installed a new graphics driver I would uninstall and reinstall making sure it is a Clean install not a reinstall. I remember spending hours with Arthur trying to sort out this problem and the last resort was the reinstall of the game which worked we could have saved ourselves hours of time LOL if we had done that first

Already tried cleaning up files so I'm at a bit of a loss currently, this PC should be running smoothly with the power it has!

Ignore messages above, figured it out;
Like InFlames said, it's a corrupt file with 2k23. After closing 2k23 I would open Task Manager and be met with "system interrupts" using >60% of my CPU, this would then disappear and I'd notice 2k23 still running in background which made my whole computer run slow. once I had force closed 2k23 everything was fine again.
Will delete and re-install

I used to use a shortcut on my desktop, but after the uninstall/reinstall I've gone through Steam to fire up 2K23 and my FPS rates have stayed rock solid. If I use the desktop shortcut I get the same reduced FPS rates. Dunno why and don't care, just going with what works. Hope this helps Paddy. Onward!

Hi,
Help asked here too : since 2 weeks I experience fails which still the game, or quit to desktop or even worse still the PC and even even worse make it reboot.
This happens everywhere : in the game on line or solo, in the menus, in the designer this morning.
It seems to happen quite shortly after the first launch of the game after starting the PC. It happens rather less frequently after a first fail, but still sometimes.
I updated the graphic card driver and re-installed the game with no success.
Any idea ?
Thanks
Dominique

Have you checked your storage space? Another way of checking after you’ve checked storage is to start task manager whilst the game is loaded and see what’s using up CPU and Disk Space, this can normally be an indicator of what’s going on.

No more bugs since almost two weeks. The problem disappeared with no explanation...
How much I love computers!

To be fair to your computer, the PC optimization of this iteration of the game is pretty bad. I run a XT 7900 XTX card and only run on medium settings. Even so, GPU utilization is 95%+ in MENU screens and whilst playing in 1440. No way this game properly optimized would take that much GPU power.
