Only played 1 practice round at Oakmere partly due to lack of time, but partly because despite being only -1 after 8 I managed to come in at -10! Felt pretty good after that. Struggled initially though with nothing going my way in the actual round which is typical. Rounds 2 and 3 were OK but not in contention. Highlight for me was an epic putt on 18 for eagle to come in at -7 for the first round. I crept on the front edge of the green literally wasn't sure if it was green or fringe til it handed me the putter (cursing the no chipping on green policy at this point). With the pin right at the back I had a long old putt but hit it perfectly. One of those that you feel has a good chance right from the off and it dropped in at just the right speed! Had a look at the stats for the course and it is the longest putt holed on the course at 67yards to about 45ish in 2nd. Of course a bit of a fluke as I practically had to max out my putting stroke but it was a good read . I saved the video, might upload it if I can work out how to do so
