And so we come to a end of another season of Kinetic here on tgctours with just the play offs to go. It has been a season of ups and downs, highs and lows with a few tears of both joy and rage along the way. We started the season with magic balls, where the players became the schedulers and deciding what green speeds to play. The courses were set up hard to counter this, then the magic balls became just balls but the course setups could not be changed, a couple of difficult weeks lay ahead but the kinetic players survived(mostly) and soon the green speed power was handed back to me to the delight of some, to the disgust of others and the season could continue as normal.
Cut lines varied through out the season, we had single digit cut lines which I enjoyed seeing from time to time. We had just one week where the cut line hit 20 under, which I was happy about, the bigger the number on the cut line, the harder it becomes to make the cut, making mistakes overly punished. On average the kinetic cutline was 16 under, something that is doable for the average kinetic player.
This season also saw courses from a huge variety of designers, some newer designers, some experienced, this is something I try to do every season, giving new designers a chance of a tour course, which in turn helps them learn and grow as designers. Player courses from more experienced designers gives kinetic players a chance to play courses from some of the best designers out there which is always a pleasure.
We have had a few tantrums as the season unfolded but that is expected every year, I have had some abuse thrown my way, never pleasant but again, something that happens every year, thankfully this is limited to a handful of people, and these people tend to complain not matter what tour they are on. Like in all aspects of life, there are some that feel entitled that everything should work the way the want it to, if they don’t like hard courses, then no one should play hard courses even if others prefer it this way. Throughout the season, I try to talk to as many kinetic players as possible, on forums, on discords, on twitch, not all conversations are public but all feedback good and bad is given attention.
This season also saw the kinetic invaded by wolverines but most of these creatures only stayed for 2 or 3 weeks. There has also been a ice hockey invasion where some mad man has decided to use the kinetic courses from a community event, obviously he has read those tantrum posts about how horrible the kinetic is.
I want to thank everyone involved in anyway with the kinetic this season, the designers who graciously allowed my to use their courses, who made changes when I requested them, who gave me settings feedback, who provided courses for you guys to play. I want to thank the rangers who tested the courses, who discovered issues with certain courses and settings and who also helped me figure out when I could push the boundaries a bit. And of course, I want to thank you guys, the players, who bring drama and excitement to this tour each week. I have had the pleasure of watching some fantastic twitch streams where promotions and demotions came down to the last hole of the last round, the raw emotion on those streams just shows what tgctours has done for this game. So thank you all, whether you played a couple of weeks or all season, it would not be the kinetic with out you. And finally I want to thank Brenelan , whose help getting this tour up and running each week has been invaluable.
Finally, I want to talk about the elephant in the room, season 10. As I am sure most of you know, at the moment, it is on hold as the funds are just not there at the moment. There has been rumours going around that the reason for this is that I have been using tgctours funds for my lavish lifestyle. I strongly refute this, all the tgctours money I use for private jets, outrageous parties, holidays and other luxury items are a legitimate expense and if the lawyers could find me, I would swear to this in court. Kinetic to is suffering from these lack of funds, soon I shall have to lay off a number of kinetic staff members, sure they are all beautiful women aged between 18 and 25 and I am sure they will find other jobs but think of the children(again the lawyers need to find me), if tgctours does not find the funding for next season, we shall have to take away all their toys and feed them only gruel. Do you want this to happen, do you want to be responsible for little Donal having to play Minecraft on a ps4 rather than a ps5. Lets not let this happen, if you can and I can not stress this enough, only if you can, I know times are tough, cost of living are high but if you can spare 5 or 10 dollars, pounds, euros, donate to tgctours, lets keep this amazing place going, lets have a season 10 on kinetic(which of course means a season 10 for all other tours as well) Tgcours has been part of so many of our lives for so long, lets make sure it stays that way. In fact, I am even offering some prizes for donations, for 1 million dollars or more, you get to take me to dinner in what ever restaurant in whatever country you choose (your traveling expenses are not included). For 500,000 dollars, I shall make a reverse charges phone call for a maximum of 10 minutes to your personal phone. For 100,000 dollars, I will send you a autograph picture of me(you will need to provide the stamp and envelope). For 5 dollars or more, my eternal gratitude for being a part of this community and helping it continue for the pleasure of us all.
