This course was originally inspired by a lidar course I built in the last game (Shakopee Creek). That lidar course had one of the best plots I’ve built on so I wanted to try and recreate that process using my own plot. I normally route and plan out a course before opening the designer but this time, I wanted the course to feel as natural as possible and built a relatively wild, undulating plot and then routed the holes around that landscape. Kasota Hill is a more undulating and densely planted course than Shakopee Creek but I still wanted to use a similar bunker style and environment. Large, deep, punishing retained bunkering is a key feature. Good luck finding a flat lie too. IMO this the best collection of 18 holes I’ve built in the game.

Simply amazing Gareth. Plot work was perfect. Use of land movement was top notch. My favorite course from you by far. Also, must have really sucked putting all those retaining walls down but worth it and really showcases the course. Will be back for many more rounds to hopefully learn a thing or two .

Wow.
You manage elevation changes so well. What a course. Love that bridge behind 15.

People will rave about #6 (deservedly so), but I thought 17 was sensational.

This is easily one of the best plots I have ever played on. Was a very fun adventure trekking through that land and seeing how you both showed off, and used the natural features strategically. Every hole was fun, unique and made sense. Sightlines and environment were crazy good from all angles. Waste bunkers and retaining walls maybe the best I've seen in that style.
If this course doesn't win the contest, then I can't wait to play the course that does.

If this isn’t the contest winner, I can’t fathom what beats it.
I’ve never seen a course that captures an aesthetic so well before. I kept expecting Ron Swanson to pop out and teach me how to sand down a canoe. I could smell Old Spice through the TV screen.
Absolutely beautiful course. Sculpting, Routing and Planting were all on brilliant. Good luck in the tournament.

Oh my! Such a great plot and surrounding area. Loved the bunkering, accentuated by the elevation and retaining.
