Autoplant the fast way!

OMG this is amazing. Speed planting solved...on PC anyway, if using a controller. Maybe you already know about this and I'm just stupid.

Steam has the ability to enable an autofire mode on your controller that allows rapid planting, it's called turbo. To access it...

1) Enter Big Picture Mode in Steam (screen icon in top right)
2) Launch PGA tour 2k23
3) You may need to enable steam input if asked
4) Once game launched open steam overlay by shift-tab
5) Go to controller settings
6) Navigate to ABXY (if using an Xbox controller)
7) Open the settings icon by the A Button
8) Open settings menu
9) Enable "hold to repeat" (Turbo)
10) Set repeat rate to 10 (lowest, it's still plenty fast, shame it can't go a bit lower)
11) You will want to have a fire start delay (I go for 250ms) to make single planting, splining, sculpting easier, although those are fun with the rapid fire too....
12) Close steam overlay (shift tab again)

Now when you hold plant, you are spamming, at quite a rate. This is going to save a lot of time and RSI....

When I first tried this it seemed to mess with the zoom functions, but that soon settled down; if it happens, restart the game and it goes away. If it all messes up, you can reset to defaults, or just disable steam input.

To exit big picture mode (which is otherwise horrible) use Alt-ENTER. You don't need to use big picture mode again in fact (or at all really, just easier to navigate to the right menus it seems).

If you all already know about this and I am the last person to find out, then please let me know gently and I'll delete this post faster than I can now spam plant.

I would have thought so. I gave up on AHK, use hand contortions instead.

Thanks a lot for the tip.

Iam using a pc with keyboard & mouse, is it possible to use it the same way as the one you described? I am stockt at no. 6 in you turorial tho.

I don't think can set up with PC and mouse, only as controller. I used to design with PC and mouse in 2k21, made the switch to controller in 2k23, it's way better....

On PC I can spam plant at a rapid rate by hitting the spacebar in rapid succession while moving the mouse around.
I also use AutoHotKey to load the HyperPlant script first.

The joy of this autofire for me is not needing to spam. Saves the wrist and stops me waking the wife with the clicking.

I just use multi-plant for all my grass. Is that bad?
Granted I don't use too much grass so it's never an issue for my meter.

I use multiplant too. If you turn down the size and intensity of the brush it’s almost as efficient as single planting  on the meter and you don’t need to worry about rotating and it varies the sizes. Life’s too short to single plant. If you combine multiplant and auto fire you can plant super fast. I’ve put a LOT of grass on my new course this way, done all my trees too and clubhouse. Still have 25% meter to play with.

Usin pc with mouse & keyboard but after running the HyperPlant script nothing happens if I use spacebar, key 1 or any other key. Something to do with not having joystick, perhaps you did change the script?

Yes I think the script uses controller functions to do the autoplanting.
You may need to modify the script to use keyboard controls rather than controller buttons.

Scripting..??, I don't think I can figure to change the script myself, could you give me the figures or a hint of what does it need to be changed the script to run with the keyboard please?

This information was fantastic for me!  It has really helped speed up the planting process and it's much better than the other methods that have been mentioned.
