I've been going through the game and upgrading my clubs (not the fittings, just so that's clear) as I go when I have the virtual bucks to do so. I'm a Mizuno user IRL, so I went Mizuno in-game as well. But I've seen articles online that suggest that the clubs actually have an effect on your game - besides just the color indicating their 'status' (i.e., gray, green, blue, purple, and orange). The only clubs I've seen that display any indication of this are irons - like, for example, the orange Taylormade P7MC irons have +3 in the lower right corner when you hover over them to view them, while the Callaway Rogue PRO Irons only show a +2. No other clubs display this (drivers, woods, hybrids, even wedges). So my question is - does this really matter? I've been diligent in getting all my clubs fitted out with Fittings that work with my swing characteristics, but do the clubs themselves really matter all that much?
If this has been answered before, apologies also - I did a search and didn't come across anything.

The +2 and +3 you are seeing are additional clubs. Some sets have additional clubs like a 3 iron or a wedge. That's what the +2 and +3 are, not stat boosters.
