Welcome to the Wasquamsett Club!
Wasquamsett Club is my entry into the 2023 World Cup of Design. It wasn't inspired by any course or designer in particular but rather a host of courses along the US Northeastern coast. The course sits in what can best be described as a sink, where the front 9 loops around the bottom of the bowl, while the back 9 generally plays along the outer edge of the bowl. I do hope you enjoy your round at Wasquamsett Club!
Bonus points to he or she who can figure out the extremely obscure Simpsons-reference in the name.
For schedulers - conditions: Pin 1: Low, North. Pin 2: Medium, East. Pin 3: Medium, NE. Pin 4: High, South. Keep it firm.
Enjoy!

Had to check out the first publish in the group of death… really enjoyable round of golf, loved the wide open feel and expansive views of the course. Felt a bit of an Oakmont look by the sea with some suitably tucked pins. Worst of luck in the comp!

Love it! So natural and organic in the feel and the enviornment. I see you on the great attaention to detail throughout. The sunken rope fences along the cart paths, the town, the rocky coast, the ivy on the clubhouse, all done with class. Possibly my favorite course by you.
Actually the false front on 18 just knocked me back three times in a row, so now I hate it, burn it!

I kept having this nagging sense of deja vu going around here. That's when I discovered you also created that brutal Tanneronimink course that was used in a qualifier a couple months ago! I don't think I'd felt as much pressure over every shot as I did that week trying to grind it out with some tough conditions. Anyway this felt like a friendlier version that still requires the same pinpoint accuracy when going for risk/reward shots. I think a lot of designers shy away from that so it's kind of nice to see the risk factor dialled up once in a while. Very well done course and best of luck in the competition!

Wonderful setting and tricky greens, even at default pace. Lovely planting and a great setting.

Thanks for such a nice course. Really enjoyed my round and the vibe created - nice plantings. The greens certainly tested my mediocre putting.
All the best of luck in the WCoD comp.
Cheers
