WCOD 2023 Entry - Group H South Homer Bluff, my entry into the World Cup of Design. A heavy nod to Landmand Golf Club with thanks to Keg Farm for stirring the idea up in the first place. The Barranca Fairway was something I couldn't get my head away from, so I went with it. The Course matches Landmand with 5 tee sets, all playing slightly different, but optimized for the tips (Reds) and to be judged from there. Red: 7615 Yards White: 7392 Yards Green: 7226 Yards Gold: 6927 Yards Black: 6530 Yards This course is BIG. The tee shot on almost every hole is intended to make you feel uncomfortable. The greens are designed for precise approaches, penalizing misses in bad spots with little to no access on the following shot. Be smart about your approach or you'll see a birdie chance turn into a bogey quickly. While one slogan from Landman golf is "You didn't come to Homer to lay-up", you may want to consider doing so on a few holes here. The Address Nod The Barranca #4 + Full course overview 17+18 18 Green and Starters Hut Enjoy!

Just played this and it’s certainly one of my favorites early on. I think you successfully accomplished what you were going for and there’s a variety of interesting holes. It’s great to see a course that places a premium on driver and positioning off the tee but doesn’t rely on skinny fairways. A good thinking man’s course! Best of luck in the contest!

There's a lot of fun shots on this WILD course! I love the bold risks you took here and that you WENT for it. The wild scultping, the unique surfaces, Hold 10 Green!!! You nailed the grass look and I know how long that took! Good Job Seb!

weirsy2003Thanks for the kind words! I’m glad you enjoyed it and picked up on the intent to challenge driver. Some holes were a bit far fetched but I think they landed well enough. Thanks for the comments! trailducker yessir, I went for it and didn’t care what happened! I’m glad you appreciated the grass planting. Lot of hours sunk into those stupid blades of grass! Stick to what I like doing and hope for the best! Glad you enjoyed it, Tyson! b101 As always, thank you for the in-depth detail in your play-through. I’ve still lots to learn and appreciate the insight provided. I’m glad you liked 9 and 10, and interestingly enough, 10 was originally a longer par 5 as you mentioned, that I eventually shortened to make it a more challenging par 4 (and to not have a par 73) Perhaps that made it a bit gimicky, especially with the next hole 11 being a forced carry, long 4. You live and you learn. Thank you again, Ben!

Finally got around to this one sebk. Grip and rip it and then try to find where you hit it.
