Anybody know any good programs that are free so I can compress my videos for youtube before posting on here.
Have a few Vids now at over 1GB and I am not waiting 5-6 hours plus to upload them as i need the bandwidth for other things.

I am using fraps mostly but tested out shadow play for one of them to see what that was like. Will stay with fraps I think for ease

So when you use fraps, and finish recording, what is your process to save the file? When saving video files, there should be some sort of option to compress your video, especially if you are exporting to quicktime or making a .mp4 or .mov file

It saves automatically to a specified folder as you hit a button to record and then again to stop. I have the fps at 30 to save on file size and only other option that would relate to file size is halving the resolution but still want to keep some quality.
I can use another program if you have any suggestions for one.

I use shadowplay all the time you must have it set on shadow or shadow/manual if you goto mode and select manual it will record upto 15-20 mins at a time and if you're rounds are over 15-20 mins it keeps recording but splits it into parts. It won't stop recording until you turn it off.I record mine at 1080p 60 fps and sometimes the files are upto 8-9Gb, after i have rendered through sony vegas so i can put my intro and stuff on.After that i use a free program called handbrake that can reduce the filesize to under half of what the original size was.Without hardly any loss to quality depending on what settings you use.I preffer shadowplay over fraps as using fraps you take a small hit to you're fps and shadowplay hardly makes any difference. handbrake.fr/downloads.phpThere are loads of videos on youtube that will show you the best settings to use in handbrake depending on how good you want the quality to be.If you look at some of my videos you can see the quality is pretty good after compression through handbrake... www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXk4-Iiw33KAZywSBfaH4jsGju3WHV4y5

Jimgem you glorious Ba%&$£d. Thank you so much. I have no idea about these things and the internet throws up so many options and have had a bad time with malware lately so didn't want to just jump in.
I have seen some of your vids and they are good quality. Unsure if I will go back to shadowplay or not but now glad I can compress the file.

Yeah it's a great little program i've been using it for a couple of months now and its got to be one of the best free programs for compressing file sizes, pretty easy to use aswel and very fast.At the moment i'm doing alot of witcher 3 videos and feck me some of theose vids are 30-40 mins long at 60fps i just did one there and the file size is over 12gb i would be fooked if i didn't use handbrake as it would take me so long to upload the videos.

I see what you mean in shadowplay. I used shift+F10 to capture and not shift+F9 to manually record, which i had not even noticed before. Actually may switch now since you advised on FPS hits with fraps.
I will need to watch a video for HandBrake, not a clue what I am doing lol.
P.S. If you have any suggestions for a free editing suite, would be grand. Got a call from my work when I was recording a replay and it has showed a shot twice

That's cool. I used to be big on torrenting until a few weeks back when I downloaded a few games and apps and had to re-install windows as nothing was working to clear whatever the hell it was that was making my CPU use full load. I have one exeptions for the rule though and that is to get game of thrones I am sure PC advisor and other such sites should have reviews and trustworthy links to get the programs.
