I was going through Falcon Bay for the first time. Nice course but when I got to 17, my ball was a little short and right of the green. It rolled down the hill to the giant rock. It took me 11 shots (maxed out for the hole) to get out. I was trying everything to get out - pitches, flops, normal with Lob/Sand/Pitch, got no where. The first 5 shots were so uphill, they went like 10 ft and rolled back 5. After the 6th shot I decided to hit the record button on the PS4:
>>>
Note to everyone.... do NOT hit the ball there, your round will die a slow, cruel death.

If the patch ever drops, you will have the option to take an unplayable lie. Personally, when I get in those type of spots, I always try going out sideways to the right or left (right in your case).
On the positive side, better to learn this in a practice round, right?

Correct, if we get the patch before the US Open Qualifiers get going, i may have been able to take a drop --- but where would it have let me drop it in that area would be the next question lol. And yes, this is why we run a practice round or two

I did this exact same thing playing through it yesterday lol Tough spot to be in. Players need to make sure they nail 100% power on that approach. The hill is just too steep. With the rock stopping the ball form going in the water, it's a round killer - even a tournament killer.

Well I got bit by this one. I'm just a lowly Champions Tour player with no shot of actually qualifying for the US Open. Just playing to get some experience on tougher courses to see how much better (if at all) I've gotten since Q-school when I was shooting in the 90s and 100s. Had a very good (for me) round going in round 1. And then one of those godforsaken 92 percent shots on 17 leaves me in those rocks. Take an 11 on that hole and my nice little round all of a sudden looks rather lousy. Not real happy.
