Hey everyone,
I just started designing my 1st course and need some help. It’s actually based on a course I designed way back in the old Jack Nicklaus game about 30 years ago so I have a great concept and know exactly what I want to do, it’s just a matter of figuring out how to do it within the abilities of this game designer.
2 issues that I’d like some help with are….
1. On a seaside course, is there a way to make the beach more organic rather that cut off in rectangles where the automated theme meets the designer area?
2. When you lay out a spline of a green or fairway, it automatically flattens the area. Sometimes that’s helpful but it also gets in the way of what I’m trying to accomplish. For example, the concept of this course is similar to The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island so I want a lot of my greens to be sitting within open fairway collection areas. The problem is that when I spline out the fairway, it automatically flattens instead of lying within the natural topography. Is there a way to keep this from happening and give me more control over when I want and don’t want an area flattened?
Thanks Jeff

Hey Jeff Not the most experienced designer ever but can answer these for you. Issue 1. That’s just a limitation of the game, but if you make a brush really big it can go past the border of the plot a little but maybe not as much as you’d like. Issue 2. When you are surfacing on auto generated land, it will auto flatten the surface. You should turn auto-genned hills to 0 and create your own using the landscape brushes. When you lay your surface over hills you’ve created manually, they will not auto-flatten and you will get the look you want Hope this helps Brendan( BrendanOR123)

Thanks for the help guys.
1 more question… Is there a way to create tall fescue type heavy rough? Can you manipulate the rough or do you just have to plant extra grasses?
