This is my first crack at a 100% fresh course.
I generated a "100% hills" map, and then choose a spot for a lake, and added a large ridge line. While building the routing I Tried to work in and around the "natural" slopes. I also love drastically changing angles with tee boxes, so I had fun with that.
Definitely looking for feedback on this one, still lots of detail work before I publish it, but I think I'm done fidgeting with the current course design.
The Greens were way more severe in my first pass, but I am open to calming them down some more.
If anyone wants to play test it, I can send the course file
Full 1-18 imgur album with over heads and view of the tee shots and most of the greens.
Hole 3, a Par 3 back over the water toward the club house. Going long of the green is "safe" as the hill will bounce balls back onto the surface, but make sure your ball is moving toward the correct pin!
Hole 9, back across the water to close out the front 9. A short par 4, with maybe too many options for lay ups. Longer hitters can choose to just blast it toward the green and "Let God sort it out"
Hole 13 is a "short" par 5, that may lul you into risky tee shot, but with the elevation change most should be able to bounce a ball onto the perfectly flat surface protruding into the lake, and have an easy shot into the enormous green. There's also no shame in bailing out right and making it a 2.5 shot hole. Just make sure to check where the pin is!
Hole 17 par 4, Expert shot shapers can bend a ball right to left around the tree line, and land a tee shot expertly next to the mid-fairway tree on the left, for a relatively short approach in. There is also lots of room to go straight over the bunker and stay to the right of the fairway.
