Test CB

Hey guys! I was wondering if anyone would be willing to give me some feedback on my WIP course I titled "Test CB" (mainly on the strategic aspect). I think there could be some slightly repeated holes, but I still think they all play differently as well. I may just be overthinking a bit, but I hope to get some clarity on how the holes play. Also the planting is far from finished lol. Thanks guys!

Just played a round here, JickinWings . Green tees, Pin 4, default settings.

Hole 5 is a 452-yard par-4 that gave me 3-wood off of the tee. Maybe move the waypoint to default to driver, as there's no real reason not to hit it here.

Hole 6 is a 296-yard par-4...I am never not going for the green here. The centerline hazards are kind of unnecessary then. Even driving thru the green leaves you a simple chip shot with no danger anywhere.

Hole 7 has the pin location here set with yellow in 6 of the 9 boxes of the grid surrounding the hole, even at default 145 speeds.

Hole 10's tee box is very sloped...Hole 12's tee box is sloped, too. Just an FYI.

Hole 12 is another drivable par-4. I'm again going for this one every time.

Course is absolutely fine, but I do agree with the idea that some hole layouts feel repeated. There are multiple drivable par-4s with no real reason to not go for it, as well as several other par-4s that are 350-450 yards that are driver->pitch. The par-3s were even pretty similar...I think one was 148 and one was 150-something. I looked at the scorecard, and Hole 7 and 13 are 150 and 153 respectively.

I guess I'd say that many of the holes here are very straightforward and the fairways are wide and receptive. This is fine and a style I enjoy, but I did kind of feel like I didn't do a whole lot of thinking when playing the course. And with that kind of laid-back approach, I shot an easy-peasy 6-under 66.

This is a very well-done course. I can see how it will really come together with finished planting and the rest of the work yet to be done.

Jickenwings, (love the GT by the way lol)

Just got done playing the course. I really enjoyed it! Could definitely see some of the things sroel mentioned and the changes you might have already made.
Before I critique I want you to know I’m a very low level 2k player. Extremely new to the TGC settings and my scores show it. But I did play college golf so I understand how to get around the course, my thumbs just don’t always cooperate lol but I thought you might appreciate a more beginner/amateur level golfers experience as well as from the more top tier players in tgc.
So here goes

Being that I’m new to the masters swing, I’m playing the rhythm archetype and my fittings are far from great. Because of this it seemed like I would fall short of most hazards off the tee. Don’t worry I miss enough fairways that the rough was plenty of a challenge for me lol but even with driving short of some of your hazards I didn’t really feel like it would’ve hindered scoring. Still would have mid iron in hand, par 5s I felt I could still reach if I swung properly. Yet there are plenty of us out here that can’t get our ideas to flow through to the tv. So on a lot of the approach shots there were plenty of times I went and worked on my sun tan.

Those shorter par 4s were a nice kind of breather to me though I still didn’t score them that well lol they just weren’t as stressful. I swear I woulda albied the first one if that tiny bunker didn’t swallow my ball lol

The greens seemed like they had a good amount of contour to them. A few times I noticed they’d break one way the whole way thru my putt, but right past the pin they’d break opposite. Tough for me not having the putting distance figured out quite yet. I’d be interested to see what would happen if I changed my setting to faster as opposed to default.

It was a fun course all in all! I can tell you’ve put a lot of work into it and can’t wait to see when you’re done planting!
