Hey everyone,
I’m pretty new to the game and am trying to get used to all of the options. I’ve started a career, just won my 1st tournament and was asked by sponsors if I wanted to use their equipment. I confirmed that I do, but when I went to my locker room to change to that equipment it’s not available for me to switch to and use.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks Jeff

Then, you have to play rounds with them as your sponsor, and after each event you'll gain more loyalty with that sponsor. You'll keep leveling up as long as you keep that company as your sponsor and you play well. Each sponsor has 9 tiers, and you get a reward after achieving each tier. For example, Cobra Golf offers a putter when you pass Tier 1, a glove when you reach Tier 2, etc. After Tier 9, you get no more rewards from the sponsor. If you play poorly, you can lose some of the loyalty you've built up with the sponsor, and you can even get dropped by sponsors if you play bad enough. Also, if you change sponsors, you'll lose loyalty with the sponsor you kick to the curb. You can also choose some sponsors to cover more than 1 area...for example, you can have Titleist as your sponsor for both your golf ball and your clubs. This allows you to level up your sponsorship tiers with that brand faster. Also, there are some items you can buy with VC in the Pro Shop from some of the brands that are sponsors in MyCareer. So if you want a few items from the sponsor you've selected immediately, you could check there and buy them right away if you have enough coin.

After I won the tournament, a message popped saying that Ben Hogan wanted to sponsor me to use their clubs, but their clubs are not available for me to use. If they asked me to use their clubs why would I still have to earn more tiers to use them? I didn’t ask them. I don’t even know how to do that.

You select the sponsor, and then have to earn their gear. It doesn't really make sense, or would be how it is in real life. You get the phone message that so-and-so wants to sponsor you to use their apparel/ball/clubs. You confirm or reject that phone message. If you take them on as a sponsor, you'll see their logo on the bottom right in the appropriate spot. You can go into the sponsor menu there, and you can look at each sponsor to see the items they offer at each tier. As you progress with each sponsor, you get the tier rewards. But you don't get any gear from them when you add them as a sponsor. This video lays it out pretty well:
