Hi All,
Sorry this may be a bit lengthy, but if you are an avid user of the 2K23 course designer please read on.
Now that PGA 2K23 update 1.15 (26 Apr 2023) has given users of the 2K23 course designer some more objects to include on courses (Urban Accents), it is a good time to mention a proposed Object Quota Guide I am working on.
Opinion
Just looking at the quota used by some of the recently added objects in both the UK Assets pack and this latest Urban Accents assets pack, I think 2K need to arrange some additional object quota for the course designer.
Especially since the plantings/trees in 2K23 use about 10% more of the object quota compared to 2K21. Although the detail of some of the 2K23 plantings/trees is better, the lighting and LOD loading arguably spoils the look on some objects (e.g. most of the Tropical trees). I think the lighting in 2K23 is why more designers now prefer lower light conditions as it may make plantings and textures look better. However I digress, so back to the point.
Proposed Object Quota Guide
For several months I have been recording in a spreadsheet the object quota used by objects in each category of objects so I can maximise object usage within the limited object quota budget. I am not yet finished. Sometimes I have to swap out plantings and man-made objects to other acceptable variations so I can get a realistic outcome. Of course, on every designers wish list is more object quota on the Object meter and more available space on the Memory meter.
The result is the possibility of sharing with all designers a PGA 2K23 Object Quota Guide. Hopefully it will not breach any 2K terms and conditions / guidelines, and better still they could maybe contribute in some way - fingers crossed.
Please see the image file below of a possible single PDF page from the guide - about "Benches". I would propose the "Notes" on this sample page to be rolled up generically into an introduction as it applies to all objects.
What I would like to know:-
If you have any collaboration ideas please message me.
Thanks and Regards

- Is this something someone has already done that I am yet to discover?
- If not, do you think it is worth proceeding?
