Set in northern Ontario Canada this par 72 Boreal course was made with the minimalist approach in mind some may call it ugly but the natural landscape shaped this course with quite fantastic results with lots of elevation changes and unique memorable holes... give it a go and please don't refrain from posting notes here for updates to the course.

I just played this course and it's a great one. Not easy, but not crazy hard either. Went into the 18th at 1 over and hit the green in 2 ending up about 12 feet or so from the hole. Barely eked out an eagle finishing the round with a -1 71. I'll definitely play it again.
Ok, constructive criticism. It's all in the cosmetics. The course plays great and I would leave the fairway widths as they are. While I think it plays great, it looks like it is uses standard fairways. That's one of the things that will get it a less than stellar rating. The best rated courses narrow the fairway and rough widths to 0 and then lay their own fairways, rough, bunkers and such using the brushes. You also only have 1 tee box per hole. This will also subtract from the rating. They usually like to see a course with dummy tees representing the blue, white, red tees, bathrooms at the farthest points out and such. Not every couple of holes on the facilities, mind you, but at the farthest points from the clubhouse; just like you would see on a real course.
I gave it a rating of 9 which is about the best you'll get from me based on playability alone.
And please accept these criticisms in the spirit in which they are intended, which is to help you make a great course. We need good courses out there as there are some that are real junk.

if those are the only problems you can see then we are golden. I always planned on adding the other tees I just wanted to get a base version of the course out to test playability before adding cosmetics, and I have already added all the extra sets of tees along with benches garbage cans water coolers and even tee caddies on all the par 3 tee boxes. As for the fairways yes you caught me some of them were just left as the GNCD laid them out but to be 100% honest I was going to lay the fairway in the exact same way so I figured there was no point in "erasing" something I was about to do anyway lol. Others though, got the full treatment you mentioned laying every single piece.
sorry for double post it wasn't showing my text when quoting

Cool. If you are going to draw them close to what the program would do, I see no need to do it yourself. A rectangle or square is a rectangle or square whether it's auto-generated or drawn with a brush. I'm definitely looking forward to playing the finished product, but take your time. Like they say in the submission guidelines, it's better to have one or two great ones than a whole slew of mediocre ones.

oh I have been taking my time I've been working on this for like a month and a half the final version is pretty much done just double checking for trouble spots and from what other people have told me there isn't very many (or any now that a fixed a couple) of those..
I was also thinking of doing a championship or major setup I did design the greens so they could accommodate multiple pin locations some of which can be quite tough

well I think the final version is finished. Complete with alternate tee's a little more planting and even some good ol' Canadian wildlife thrown in... I also did a tiny bit more shaping to flatten out some weird spots in fairways
wish there was a way to have some people besides me playtest this before publishing a final version
I'm gonna run through it a few more times then just publish it and be done with it lol

There is a way - you can email the course file to people and have them play it in offline mode or just publish it under a code name and have people play it then edit/republish a final version under the name you want.

if I were on pc yes it would be quite easy could just e-mail it to a couple of people and that's that but alas, I'm on XB1 and to be honest the wait for people to post feedback kills me as I kinda just wanna be done with it and get back to logging some hours on the course lol (my game has suffered from all this GNCD time ) this being said I am hovering over the publish button as we speak I have the day off tomorrow so I just spent another 6 hours on a course that I keep saying is done, I honestly think that no matter what there will always be something I'll want to change the more I look at it lol... I think I'm just going to publish it now and any tweaks needed can be made to the championship version im planning on putting out afterwards

Every designer feels this way. There comes a point where you have to just put the paintbrush down and put that canvas in a frame.

I like the bear on #6 that raises up out of the water behind the green
#2 90% of all tee shots willendup behind hole, change the break either increase it or make an opposite cross break, as it is now it a gimme birie
Prolly same for #18 any ball behind the hole and on green is a gimmie
as it stands now 8.0
