Here is my list of most difficult video game golf. What is yours ?
1) Bandai golf Challenge Pebble Beach (par was my best).
Hard to play when you only drive 220 yards in this one. If I recall
This was a side scrolling golf game with the elevations
2) World Cup Golf: Cdi Phillips… just downright hard
3) Lee Trevino’s Fighting Golf.. Apple IIe. Don’t think I ever got this
One remotely mastered

Links 2003, mouse swing. It makes every other game primitive Hate the Power Stroke. Hate It!! Links 2003 also adds real time RTS swing with the mouse. Links 2003 remains one of the best simulations, I still play it now. Links on elite difficulty. True Sim ante litteram |

I didn't like it either, but there is a real time mouse swing in Links 2003 that doesn't require the power stroke click, if I recall correctly. I think what could have become the greatest console golf game of all time was potentially left on developer's hard drives when Indy Games was shut down by Take 2. That game was Links 2007 for the XBox 360. I had heard some behind the scenes chatter about the game from someone who'd seen a roughly 70% complete version of the game and said it was clearly a next-gen (at that time) version of Links 2004 (XBox). Andrew Jones of Perfect Golf fame, attempted to negotiate a deal to obtain partially completed code of the game, but it couldn't be found. They suspect that it had been scrapped with the hardware that was taken out upon closing of the studio. The world lost a potential treasure that day! |
