Thought I would take a run at this one—received feedback on my NT22 course that sculpting was a little rough in some spots, and that lack of angles on some holes made the course un-memorable. Thought this would be an ideal opportunity to practice some fairway sculpting and angle strategy. Really enjoyed B101's routing challenge so tried to form this plot in a similar fashion with lots of slopes, hills, and undulations. Tried to really provide options off the tee, some more obvious than others, which connect to specific slopes on the green. The wide openness of the land was an interesting challenge, trying to give the golfer visual cues as to where to hit the ball without local knowledge was something I really tried to accomplish. I planted the surrounds quite heavily to add some laneways to improve lateral views and dimension to background vistas (a few buildings thrown in for fun as well). Anyway, enough rambling, looking forward to any feedback that comes my way, think this plot could potentially be an 18 holer. EDIT: Default tees are Black, although they are manipulated so Red isn't just shorter. Greens are 155, I wouldn't recommend going too much higher (as a real publish I would soften the slopes slightly and publish at a different number so as to offer options in multi-round play).

In relation to the name, is it DL4.1 or DL4.2? Seen as it is round 2 Can anyone enter. I’ve never done any contests but I’m ready to see where my skills are. So it is open to all?

Contest #2 - Fair Play - March 29th - April 26th:Contest Challenge:Build 6 (2200 Yard Minimum) strategically sculpted holes with only Fairways and greens. - No Sand or water hazards, no Plants, no rough (or bare earth) patches are permitted inside the perimeter of the course.
- Holes along the outside perimeter can have rough, bare ground or waste bunkers (not manicured bunkers) against it to that single side.
- Plantings, buildings and any other off course items can be along the perimeter sides as well.
Judging:
You will be judged on: - Aesthetics - Technical Execution - Individual Hole Strategy
as well as - How well you sculpt your fairways and greens to influence strategy. This contest is really about sculpting. With no hazards or rough you have to create a strategy on each hole from creative sculpting of the land. Be mindful as well to not overdo it. You will be judged on poor sculpting that makes a green too penal or a fairways surface unnecessarily unplayable. Also do your best to create variety through the six holes in clubs used and types of shots requested of the golfer. Other startegic things to focus on include falter lie vs. slopped lie, best angle into the green slopes vs. one where the slopes make the shot more difficult, blindness vs. visibility, length vs. laying up, ect.. Precedents:There isn’t really a course I know of that does this but some courses with large interconnected fairways to give a play: Instructions:
You may begin now! When you are completed please comment in this thread and tag myself. Please title the course “DL4.2_[Forum name]” when you publish. Greens must have 4 pins. The judging is for 6 holes and 6 holes only. If you make any more holes you will only be judged on the first 6. All courses must be published by April 26th 11 pm PST. I will go by when you post in the forums to check this. HAVE FUN AND BE CASUAL!Entries:Dl4.2 crossers7 - crossers7DL4.2 MapCollector - mapcollectordl4.2 tracland - tracland Published my course

Played all the courses I could find on PC so far. Definitely like the creativity considering how limited the options are for this contest. I was curious what the rest of the field would look like since I went first, seems like links is the style most went with which makes sense. Also love the bold land formations an these courses. Used InThisStyle 's course for scouting Meme Team, only shot -8.
