Checking my more detailed stats on the leaderboard, not a single 3 putt to complain about. 100% FIR on the front 9, 71% on the back. 44% GIR on the front and 100% on the back. I’m getting there.

That was the most boring round of golf I’ve played in years and it was amazing. Not boring because of the course but boring because I did absolutely nothing spectacular or stupid. Started with my traditional +3 after a couple holes but then rattled off three birdies in the next five holes to get back to even. One of those was a close approach for a tap-in birdie. The next one was a 30+ foot putt for birdie. Bogeys on 8 and 9 left me +2 through nine. Tee shot on 8 was particularly annoying as it was the only one I hit all day that wasn’t fast. Stupid thing was perfect so it didn’t curve as expected and ended up down the hill. Horrible that my worst tee shot of the whole round was the only one I hit perfect. Back nine I birdied hold 16. That’s it. That’s the only thing that happened other than 8 pars. At this point I after being +3 after two holes to finish the round at +1 is beyond amazing for me. Wow, that's great. Keep doing that and I'll be keeping this thread going on my own. LOL Oh, to answer your question about the unplayable, I have no idea if you can take one even if technically the ball isn't unplayable.

Since I was a day behind I played round 2 as well. A couple three putts to annoy me but finally played a double plus bogey free round.
Bogey on two and birdie on four for an even front nine. Birdied 10 to get to even par for the tourney. Then bogey, bogey, bogey as the pressure must have got to me. Added a bogey on 18 for good measure to finish +3 and sit +4 after two.
Tee shots were mostly fast with a couple perfects and a couple slows to throw me off. Did drop a 40+ foot putt and came within inches of a 60+ foot one.

Third round wasn’t great off the tee as I had a few mishits but nothing too serious since these are some forgiving fairways. Got birdies on holes 3, 4, 6, and a 22 foot putt for birdie on the 18th to finish -4 and get back to even par for the week.
First ever under par round and first bogey free round. Another round where I didn’t do anything too special but it felt pretty good anyway.

Congrats!

Congrats! Thanks for the jinx there. Went ahead and finished to get it done with. Started with a bogey to end that run. Couple more bogeys and no birdies on the front 9 to put me at +3. Birdies on 10 and 12 helped but found water off the tee on 13 and posted a triple bogey. A three putt double bogey on 16 ended my scoring at +6 for the day and the week. Hopefully two bad holes don’t end up killing the whole week for me, but we’ll have to wait and see. It’s obviously continued improvement over my last couple of weeks.

Currently 12 strokes and 27 positions behind the projected cut line. 18 players above me that haven’t finished four rounds. I get the feeling it’s going to be close, unless there end up being well more than the projected 27 cards available.

Well, you know what? If +6 isn't good enough to get a card, I will be doing Q School for the rest of my life. I can barely do +6 for 1 round let alone 4. Oh well, sorry if I jinxed you. It won't happen this week.

Meh. Can't say I really care one way or the other. I'll be playing the same course if I get a card or stay in Q-school. I won't be competitive in CC for quite a while still so it doesn't really matter where I'm playing my rounds right now.
This felt like an easier course with wide fairways and greens that seemed flatter than usual so I'm not shocked +6 won't end up being as good a score as it felt like.

It really depends week to week on participation by those with a card. With all the EA movement, it might be a generous week for the Q school folks. Good luck.

First round done. That was not great. Wide fairways again this week, but double digit wind throughout and large elevation changes during shots made for some aiming nightmares. GIR’s we’re not easy and that left scoring opportunities few and far between.
My tempo was much less consistently fast this round which added further problems and wasn’t getting solid contact very often. An unusually high number of sun 250yd tee shots.
Two bogeys and 7 pars to start. Highlight was 60ish foot putts on both 1 and 3 that I put within tap in distance. Finally got a birdie on 10 but followed that up with one of only two slow shots through the round which found water off the tee on 11. Turned into a triple bogey. One more birdie and three bogeys put me +6 for the day. Not good but I did get a lot of short game work which I haven’t been doing at all recently.

Haven’t heard otherwise and don’t think last week is finalized yet, so until then I’m assuming Q-school. I’ll be playing the same course and society, card or not so I started today and will post results here for now.
