Hello Dirtbags and welcome back to the old guys and a hardy welcome to our new players. We are based on fun and friendship. Banter\trash talk is encouraged as long as you stay in limits. The season will begin on Sunday February 26 (or 26 February for those outside the US lol) We follow tgctour rules for our play. Even if you miss the cut you are required to play rounds 3 and 4. Rounds 1 and 2 should be completed by the tour deadline on Wednesday. A scorecard is required for rounds 2 and 4. If you do not know how to post a scorecard, let us know. Make sure to tag jeseterr when posting you score for each round. These are the six teams we have put together with much sweat and gnashing of teeth: Her is the link to the Season Two scoresheet and schedule. Score SheetWe will need the individual teams to select a team name and Captain, whose responsibility will be sending the players for the matches to Frank preferrably by Friday before the Match.

sandsaver01Excellent work. Thanks for organising and posting. (I'm in CC-I, I don't think it matters but in case it does). Team 1, I don't think I'm captain material. Cheers.

As for captains . Can it be decided if pairs as well as order of 4 singles is picked or whether it's best 2 players and lesser 2 players paired together as it rarely happened that the pairs I picked were what appeared on sheet ?
PS Not putting myself forward this time as last time my team stoned me as I left the car park.
But it really needs deciding from the off

But it really needs deciding from the off With six teams this season does that mean it will be a ten week duration? Also, per the decisions about singles and pairs each week, would it worthwhile adopting a fixture list so that the whole season is mapped out from the start? All the captains would have to do is decide which in their team is player A, B, etc, and then then the spreadsheet can work out the matches from there?

I think the picking each week Nigel was so that nobody could work out who was playing who but you're correct. If done at beginning then it's done and may god be with you. I mean you not me as he left me to trod my path years ago. Not that I blame him :-)

And you're also right, and what I had in mind was that not knowing in advance who you're playing and not being able to change it after the start of the season kind of amount to the same thing. But it's less work in the latter case. As for that path trod, we tread it alone together mate, as it were.

Since I was the one doing the score sheets for DBags 2k21 I can say that what we did was have the team captains pick the two pairs for the first match and then the sheet populated from there as so: NEW PAIRING FORMAT - ONLY SUBMIT RD 1 & 2 PAIRS Team A player 1 & Player 2 vs. Team B Player 1 & Player 2 Team A player 3 & Player 4 vs. Team B Player 3 & Player 4 Matchups for rds 3 and 4 based on the earlier matchups in 1 and 2 Round 3 Team A Player 1 vs Team B Player 1 Team A Player 2 vs Team B Player 2 Team A Player 3 vs Team B Player 3 Team A Player 4 vs Team B Player 4 Round 4 Team A Player 1 vs Team B Player 2 Team A Player 2 vs Team B Player 1 Team A Player 3 vs Team B Player 4 Team A Player 4 vs Team B Player 3 Each week the Captain could submit whomever he wanted to be the player 1,2,3,4 and the other team would not know what they were till the scoresheet was published. This was easier on the score-keeper rather than having to enter everything by hand. Just saying - you can do it however you want.

DIARY OF A CC-L DUFFER – 19TH February 2023
Huy Fong Foods Classic @ Akashi Shore – ROUND 1
I wore my blue pajama bottoms for round 1. They always bring me luck.
Missed an easy putt on the 1st but made up for it on the 2nd with an eagle.
Had my first ever 2K23 hole in one on the 4th. Wooo – 4 under after 4. My caddie jumped into the water and my character hijacked the drinks cart and hit it pretty hard, slamming 4 cold ones before rescuing the caddie.
Jittery excited fingers after my HIO resulted in a lot of FASTs on the 5th, which put me in the water. As the drop zone offered was somewhere just outside of Timbuktu, I decided to declare it unplayable and rehit from the previous spot. Straight into the water again. A chip and 2 putts left me with a quad bogey 8 and level par.
4 successive fast-hitting bogies made me quit the game and go somewhere quiet to think about my life choices.
Finished the round +3 and needing a rebound in round 2 to make the cut.
Maybe I’ll go with the red pajamas next time.

Just seemed to alter last season from week to week so hopefully stated from off then hunkydory

Just my vote but personally I prefer the option to mix things up, if only because when you end up drawn against someone like Mike Bryan you're up against him for 3 of your 4 matches that week and screwed from the start Again, happy to help out with setting up, whether it's all names in advance or week by week. Not sure how it's usually done but maybe a private captains + organisers thread would be useful.

By my reckoning you and Frank are the ones doing the scorekeeping so you can do it whatever way you prefer. When I was doing it I did it my way.

Just set rule at start and done with.
