People here don't understand that I DON'T KNOW HOW to take a full swing. I have NEVER TAKEN A FULL SWING in the 10 year history of this game. The perfect swings you see are from me swinging hard enough so that the momentum of the stick carries though. I finished +9 before the cut in CC even after playing along with KaraCake's video and will go back into qualifying. This game is not fun any more and it is starting to make me depressed and cry.

This is why I am hitting +5 per round. I don't think like other people. I don't think about my tempo on second shots. I think about the speed that my ball is going to hit the green at. Would you rather miss fairways or miss second shots? I have to choose between them. Skills only have enough points for me to make one or the other and not both. I'm constantly messing with my golfer skills trying to find the right set that works for me.

I keep sticking with this swing because IT HAS WORKED FOR ME BEFORE. In 2018 and 2019 there were times I was in CC-B using the same old swing technique. I expect the game to break for me and this to happen again! My muscle memory is trained to do this swing so I don't know how to change it.

I don't change my swing because I believe one day it will work again and it is too ingrained in my memory to change it. I will shoot +15 tournaments over and over and over again because no one has ever actually played a round with me trying to help me and I don't know why. I don't understand youtube videos of how to improve your swing. Your post is not funny and just shows your lack of understanding of me. I take this game more seriously than my job and my family. The chance of being good at this game is actually one of the few things that keeps me from harming myself.

Just compete against yourself and not against a leaderboard. I play this game to relax. Play a bad round no big deal. Tomorrow is another day and another chance to improve. Don't let a game beat you down. It's not worth it.

Ya got me all wrong brother! People told me to upgrade to Stetson cologne but I balked. Hai Karate was my mainstay. Sure, when "Urban Cowboy" was the proverbial shizznitt I stuck with Hai Karate. My brethren asked me how was I gonna score smelling like a watered down Margarita? I said just you wait. What's old will be new again. So I kept slathering on that Hai Karate through the 80's (I refer to that period as my "Get to really know my right hand grip.") I was satisfied and smelling great but not putting up the numbers I was capable of. I knew though, if I could persevere, Hai Karate would have me 'swinging' again. Sure enough I was back in the game. Scoring decent numbers at various Golden Corral franchises in the southeast.
I get that this is the 70's, the "Me" decade as the game doesn't comprehend YOUR swing technique and I don't understand YOU but I am in solidarity with ya my compadre. Hai Karate worked for me before and it's still working for me now in a 'lessen my expectations' at the Golden Corral sorta way.

When I swing I want SPEED and MINIMUM TOUCH over everything. I want to have the fastest swing and touch the stick for the least amount of time possible. Don't all the top players use minimum swing touch? I don't use draw, fade or shot adjustments because without the blue line you cannot see how it will affect your club. For me about 3 weeks ago the game suddenly became much harder and I don't know why. I went from starting to break par on CC to +15.

When I'm swinging with a Golden Corral hoochie ma, it's gotta be fast and minimal touching or it ruins the banana pudding. Dessert is part of the meal ya know.

Stick with it for a bit, I'll be interested to see if it helps you long term. Its somewhat easier in the online PVP modes like Skins. Im also relearning putting on hard mode after putting all my skill points on swing timing.

I wouldn't call myself a top player although I can shoot in the 50s at times, but no I don't use minimum touch. My thumb stays on the controller stick for pretty much the entire swing, otherwise I have no control over it, which I suspect is why you're having these problems. The thing about muscle memory is that it can be retrained. I've spent the last 18 months or so rebuilding my real golf swing by doing this under the guidance of lessons. As a result I've dropped my handicap by about 11-12 shots. It seems to me that you need someone to actually show you how to make a decent swing in order to practise it and retrain that muscle memory.
