Forsgate CC was designed by Charles H. Banks (nicknamed “Steam Shovel”), one of America's celebrated "Golden Age" architects and protégé to C.B. MacDonald and Seth Raynor and finished many of Seth's course after his death. Regarded as an architectural gem, the "traditional" design of the Banks Course features many holes inspired by some of the legendary Scottish courses, as well as Banks' signature steep and dramatic greenside bunkers. The course is consistently ranked by Golf Digest among its "Best in State" for New Jersey. Video about the course and Banks Watch >>>> Tribute to Charles Banks - A Golf Course Drone Videomctrees02 and I were looking at the course and he throws me an idea that was great. The course over time and due to bad maintenance/mowing habits had lost quite a bit of green surface and the fairways had pulled as much as 10 yards away from their fairway bunkers. McTrees He splined a temporary green surface across the entire green complex using the green surface texture so that it shows the entire usable green surface that is available before it descends down to the bunkers or lower hole surfaces. You can see here how much more green surface was possibly lost due to poor course maintenance or mowing or shrinkage over time. Restoring the green surface opens it up and allows for more surface / contours to use pin locations that would have been really tight or unusable. I ran it by fransslabak and I think it may be used on the TSTour This course is about a week away from being published, lots of work has been done since these were taken.
