Started a new track in 2K23 which will be a boreal theme set alongside a lake with elevation changes and tight tree-lined holes.
Front 9 is all surfaced, and the base trees have been added, just a lot of fine sculpting and planting left to do.
Questioning if I should plant underbrush or go with pine straw for the inner groves of trees.
*update* Went with a lot of rock and bushes for the undergrowth which looks nice but is taking forever to plant.
Front 9: Par 34 (3 par 3's / 5 par 4's / 1 par 5)
Back 9: Par 37 (2 par 3's / 4 par 4's / 3 par 5's)
Hole 1: Mid-length par 4 which runs alongside the creek.
Hole 2: Short Par 4 along the other side of the creek that can be reached with a left-to-right shot shape. Laying up with a shorter club is the safer option.
Hole 3: Long par 3 with a redan green that feeds the ball in from right to left.
Hole 4: Short uphill par 4. Find the fairway and you'll be hitting a wedge pitch shot in.
Hole 5: Long downhill par 4 with two center-line bunkers. Avoid those and you're hitting a mid-iron in depending on wind.
Hole 6: Postcard hole which is a short par 3 shooting out towards the lake. Don't go long or right.
Hole 7: Mid length par 5 but the +60 feet of elevation to the green makes this hole play much longer.
Hole 8: Drivable par 4 if you want to risk going too long into the lake or fasting it into the trees. Great view of the lake and clubhouse on the tee.
Hole 9: Mid-length par 3 hitting over the small lake into a green that is tucked next to the lake and the creek outlet. Day 4 pin will be a tough target.
Hole 10: Long par 4 with a fairway that camber's right to left.
Hole 11: Drivable par 4 with the wind at your back.
Hole 12: Long par 4 that can play much shorter with a tail wind. Drive it too far and you flirt with the pond at the bottom of the hill.
Hole 13: Long par 3 down the hill with a view of the lake in the background.
Hole 14: Long par 5 that runs along the lake.
Hole 15: Mid-length par 5 with a green perched on a hill.
Hole 16: Short par 4 that can be gettable with the right conditions but is very risky.
Hole 17: Short par 3 with a nice view of the lake.
Hole 18: Mid-length par 5 with a green perched above the small lake.
Front 9 routing 01/30/23

Hole 2: Drivable par 4 that runs along the creek and requires a huge left-to-right shape in order to make the green in one, otherwise laying up with a hybrid/3i is the safe play.
