I calibrated mine after the first round I played because I found my natural tempo kept producing fasts and it felt weird trying to slow it down. It's been pretty good since, I don't hit a lot of perfect tempos but the misses aren't usually far off.

I try for a straight swing and I agree... just a little bit off the line and your path just goes sailing. I will say that with this iteration, I take my miss heavily into consideration. Much like the pros say... It's now how good your good is... it's how bad your bad is. If you can limit your bad to a decent shot, you are miles ahead of the curve. With 2k21 I never even thought about my miss.

What is a two way miss?

I also can’t speak to twitch or anybody else, but I have started lately trying to ensure if I miss it’s to my natural direction (push right).
My swing plane has never been great or perfectly straight, but in previous iterations it was close enough, and with good tempo I could score well. In this game it’s definitely frustrating that if you are 95% on plane but have a slight “excursion” outside the white line at bottom or top it’s a drastic miss, even with perfect tempo. So just started experimenting to ensure that if I’m off, it’s at a consistent angle / finishing on the same side, while hoping to still keep it straight.
I haven’t done it long enough to see much impact yet, so tbd, and I’m not going intentionally for big, egregious misses on that side. I don’t have anything to compare it to so it could be a little cheesy, but if I does work it seems more enjoyable than grinding out practice sessions trying to perfect my straight swing (which I don’t have the time or desire to do). In my short experience, if you are not a top player (me), it also puts mega-costly misses into play if I am adjusting my targets slightly one way and then miss (via swing plane or very bad tempo to the other).

I also use minimum touch rule. I want to touch the control during my swing for the smallest amount of time possible.
