I’ll have to go back and reads the terms of service.
Seems if you have paid for a designer package you are at your leisure, other than what is specifically stated in the legalise.
interesting that you have to be “legal age of majority” (18 in most countries) to use the software, otherwise you need to have guardian consent.
Closest I can see is “The Software contains certain licensed materials and Licensor's licensors may also protect their rights in the event of any violation of this Agreement. All rights not expressly granted under this Agreement are reserved by Licensor and, as applicable, its licensors.”

Surely if you design a course and call it something different, STAOC for example, No-one has the rights to a pixelated approximation of something with a different name?

Don't think it's too much to worry about copyright only a few courses involved and like you say you can hide most courses in the database somewhere. Always thought St Andrews has played too easy in past video games so i am trying to make it playable with it being lidar and 186 speeds for a real test if that's you thing.Only 2 birdies from 156 players on the 13th hole on day one and i can see why nearly impossible to get close.   |

The 21 version had 2 decent versions of St Andrews. This version has some of the worst ones

I just had a quick play through The R&A Links version. It's OK, bit bumpy. The 17th tee shot was a bit wonky though. Very difficult with a driver. I smashed 2 balls into the hotel. There used to be a pretty polished St Andrew's called The OC, 150th Open but I can't find it now. I can confirm The OC courses didn't get removed as I've never ported them! Unfortunately the course files are far to big for 2K23 (the original plot size was enormous so that I could build St Andrews town and get views of Leuchars across the Eden estuary) and even by castrating them (like I had to do with The Castle Course) I can't get the files small enough. Pretty sure Yeltz has brought across his 150th version though. |

Thanks Les. The original mask was as small as I could get it whilst still including all the land on the Old, New and Jubilee (but not the Eden as that made the file too big). The plan was to do all 3 courses, plus the Himalayas, on the same plot.
