Just wondering if there is a decent version of The Old Course @ St. Andrews in the game. Not come across one yet.

Just wondering if there is a decent version of The Old Course @ St. Andrews in the game. Not come across one yet. I played on called St Andrews but I don’t consider it a great version it’s passable. |

There is one called The Royal & Ancient Links as well.

I just had a quick play through The R&A Links version. It's OK, bit bumpy. The 17th tee shot was a bit wonky though. Very difficult with a driver. I smashed 2 balls into the hotel.
There used to be a pretty polished St Andrew's called The OC, 150th Open but I can't find it now.

There was another version in the old game which was probably the best one which was called 'Her Majesty's Open'.

Yeltzman has the best version of St. Andrews I've played but not yet ported to 2K23. yeltzman any plans to port ?? |

When you talk about St Andrews always best to read below about the Brand Protection they use.it seems there is a specialist team there protecting it.Did not use any of the below in 2k21 when the Open was on but its maybe the reason Old Course was banned in 2k21 when there are plenty of courses around the world called Old Course.Only thing what make's me smile a little they talk about it all then go and change the shop of Tom Morris after 100s of years to an Open Shop. St Andrews Brand Kind of you to say you enjoyed the version only made it so i could play along with the Pro's the day's of the event, but the course as ported into 2k23 with a few items deleted to make it 99% but it's nearly the same course as 2k21,but with how many tricky pins there was at the event just takes time testing them so they play well in 2k23 an example below on the 12th.hopefully will be in the game at some point but without much promotion.   Again always best to play a course like this without the scout cam etc,and play with the course guide.The Stone Rory hit on day1 or day 2 now below 305 from the tee  |

The name of the thread is probably fairly easy for the specialist team to hone in on.
I suppose I get it, particularly in relation to jumpers, books and other official merch. I guess they would argue the same about a pixelated re-production of the course and HB are probably the ones who get into hot water for not having paid for the rights.
Well, whenever a course that looks a bit like a Scottish links course but definitely isn’t a an actual Scottish links course, I’ll be excited to play it.

I find it ridiculous to be honest given it's a public course on public land that essentially becomes a park on Sundays when it's usually closed. Nothing that can be created on an electronic platform could come anywhere near being able to play it in real life, same for any other course, so I really don't get all this rights BS.

What about if you did a really good version and just didn’t rename the course file and eft the name as New Course.
They would have a hell of a time finding it in amongst the hundreds of New Course files…

You have to be a little careful publishing the same course under a different name,HB-2k can ban you from the game if you keep doing it.
