I know that I'm looking ahead a bit, but I twice have started practice rounds on G.C. Of Pensylvania, which is the tournament course in 2 or 3 weeks time. It may be a good course , but it's hard to tell, as it so dark, and I gave up after about 6 holes. Playing a twilight round on tree lined fairways is horrible! I know we have distances etc available, but the depth perception is really difficult. It is even worse if playing during (real life) daylight hours, which I often do. I suppose it can look atmospheric on some courses if that is your bag, but for tournaments I think we should have a clear view of the course.

I do not enjoy dark courses either. My old eyes don't do well. I think designers should take this into consideration. Playability is the main concern.

I haven't played it yet. My comment was on dark courses in general.

I've played the course twice now and, while dark, I don't think it's too dark -- but I'm sure it depends on TV and time of day and sunlight in the room, etc. I'm not a huge fan of the sunrise/sunset look, but this pulls it off as well as any I've seen.
I just got my tour card and this course will be the site of my first event. I shot 63, 65, so I'm excited.

I really enjoyed it when I played it. I enjoyed it so much, I've chosen it as the course to use my Web-A exemption on. Hopefully I'll have a good round

Just an update on this course to help everyone understand my selection process and my choice of this course.
1. I was searching for a good rural, tree-lined course to represent the real life tourney in Ohio. They are few and far between, but I think this one fits the bill. The goal of representing the real life counterpart and not using Countryside or Boreal each week remains a constant challenge.
2. I know that some courses are just too dark to play, and are created that way as a gimmick, but I did not think this course was close. I absolutely loved the look of the course and enjoyed my time on the course so much that I knew I had to choose it for the Tour. A few people had mentioned that Pinehurst was too dark, as well, which kind of blew me away. I had never heard that about that course or any other course with lighting like that. I understand that everyone has different opinions, though, so I will be aware of these requests for future picks.
3. As for strategy, I thought the course was extremely sound. It's a simple layout, but requires a good amount of ball movement and accommodates shots nicely that take the correct approach. From a technical standpoint, it's not the most attractive course (other than the lighting) or technically sound, but I feel the playability and strategy more than makes up for it.
4. In regards to stuttering or frame rates, I really have no way of knowing how a course will play for each person. I play and test on PS4, and I will never choose a course that I experience frame rate issues on, so I can only go off of what I find. I had no issues with this course at all, so it surprising to hear that some have real issues with it. Again, everyone appears to have different experiences, even on the consoles, so it is a little out of my hands.
It's not in this post, but I saw in another post somewhere that someone insinuated that I do not test these courses before choosing them. Please refrain from questioning my dedication, if possible, as this is simply not true. I am literally scouring the entire TGC landscape looking for the best courses for you guys, yet when I open up a feedback thread in the Web A forum each week I am only getting the same handful of people commenting each week (who I greatly appreciate!). Please use those feedback threads to help shape the future of the Web.com Tour, rather than creating new threads about upcoming courses that you don't like. Thanks!

To theclv24. I believe it was my post you are referencing.
To be clear, I don't question your dedication. I know that this tour is a lot of work and I think it is freakin' awesome. Best league experience I've ever had. I just wanted the team to reconsider that course selection and I just worded my post poorly and rudely.
My apologies and I thank you for the hard work brother!
Keep on keepin' on man.

Keep on keepin' on man. Yeah, When I was writing the post I couldn't actually find the post or remember where it was. My main point of the feedback thread is that I'm trying to put a name and face (kind of) with the process so you guys know that I'm out here grinding for you. I also want to emphasize that once the courses are announced, they will not be changed unless it is a very extreme circumstance. That's why the feedback for future courses in the feedback thread is so important. There are several hundred members across the flights on the Web tours, yet with every course poll I've done or every time I've asked for course suggestions, I've gotten about 4 responses max, sometimes just 1 or 2 (and again, thanks so much to the ones who do contribute). The feedback thread is the place to make your voice heard. It's in the Web-A forum, and available (usually) every Monday.

The long shadows can be an issue sometimes, but I have to say I loved this course. So much so, that I am using my Sponsor's exemption and playing up next week. Yes I'm a lowly Champs A guy, but looking forward to moving up eventually.
Keep up the great work!

Not a fan of this course at all. It's way too dark for my ancient eyes. I'm withdrawing from this one - first time I've done that.

I'm really considering using my sponsor exemption i earnt last week for this one as it really suits my eye. Only problem is I've only had 2 top 25's in web-b so I'm thinking I'm not yet ready to make the step up.

My impressions are: A little dark 3 less than 100% shots Shot 66,should have been lower since I shot 29 on the front Should be a dogfight for the win Guess -40 or better For some reason I could see better here than at than at Shawnee

Heads up:
"In response to the concerns of many who felt they could not play in the event hosted at G.C. of Pennsylvania due to the darkness of the lighting, the designer of the course has graciously published a version that is much brighter. If you would like to give it a try, please look for The G.C. of Pennsylvania (Web.com).
As of this posting, around 7am US Central time, there is just under 16 hours left to register for this event. I will also personally reach out to some who have already expressed that they could not see well on the original course.
Please note: no other changes have been made to this course, just the lighting."

Shot 66,should have been lower since I shot 29 on the front Yeah! I played against your ghost - you were lighting it up early, I thought you might go sub-60. I hate when hot starts get derailed on the back, but.... at least you know you can eat up those first few holes if things go right.
