This week on Kinetic we have Mederia by Trevor Basketball, and what a great name for a course, Mederia, is it cake?, is it bread?, no one knows, it is one of those mystery of the food universe. Do you eat it with tea?, do you eat it with wine? you decide. My mother used to make mederia all the time and for her, it was made to have with tea.. I have to admit, I was not a big fan of it, and Mam, if you are reading this from the great beyond, that's not a criticism, it was not just to my taste. No, I am not saying you were a bad mother, I just did not really like mederia, or tea. Ah, now, just cause I don't drink tea, it does not make me ungrateful, I ate and drank nearly everything else you made, do you always have to be such a Irish mother. Ok, I will buy some mederia during the week to compare it to yours to see how good yours was, happy now. Right, where was I, the course, well, I can only guess the course was named this way as a metaphor, in golf you need to grind, work hard to improve your game, strive to constantly improve. With Mederia cake you need to grind lemon rind, working hard to get the right amount so the cake is not to bitter, the same bitterness you feel after a bad round of golf. In golf, you drive for shot and putt for dough, in cake making, err you use dough. Dammit, I don't know, its a stupid name for a course and I am doing my best here to write about something, blame the designer not me, he came up with the name. One second, one of my staff is standing over me while I am writing this, a new legal thing with tgctours, its seems they have been sued to many times by insulted designers that can't handle the truth. Oh, it seems we are playing Medora by Trevor Hoops, aka terpshoops and the course has nothing to do with cake after all but a national park name after some dude name Theodore Roosevelt, who it seems did not make cake. Screw this, I am officially changing the name of the course to mederia cake and if Mr Hoops does not like it, he can sue. Good luck all and have fun because you can have your cake and eat it to.

Had a slow start this week but was happy to get to -7 at the end of the first round. Thinking at the time (before leaderboards became active) that it was respectable score but quickly shot back to reality when the scores were released. A second -7 in round two simply not enough this week.
Having spent two weeks getting rid of demo marks, looks like I am heading for at least another red mark.

Yeah with the no wind and easy and slow greens I knew the scores were gonna be real low this week. The 4th round was a shocker when it went from putting on Velcro to putting on concrete

Glad to be back on my favorite tour with the world's foremost course scheduler, Dan Sheehan. I now get to resume my battle with my long time rival/pain Kenny Woolley (former top ranked player on the Plat tour) who's game is clearly in decline as is grasping for motivation after winning the green jacket so many years ago. Thanks to Dan manipulating the leaderboard and changing my scores (check is in the mail Dan), I'm sitting near the lead at -30 after two rounds. A 2nd round -17 matched my career low and that included a near hole in one. The current leader Flathers is gunning for a 2nd win in a row and his 8th win on the TGC tours. (Not including many more Beer League wins) He is a former Plat tour player that started winning in mid CC and never stopped winning. Hoping Dan can shave a few more shots off my last two rounds so I can have a top finish!

Nail biting stuff to start my week off, insanely high cut line and usually not very good at those... -7 in round 1 and I just can't buy putts. 5 under through first 6 holes and then limped in like a wounded dog. Might have to accept that I'm missing a cut and losing at least 1 of my 2 promotion marks. Need a high score in round 2 to escape into the weekend. I somehow managed to get it. High enough to run through the line. -7 in the front, -7 in the back. -14 and at 21 at the cut. Save job complete. 21 holes as birdies, I have scored exactly 0 eagles. Had a moment during the round where my initial putt was obstructed by fringe and rough, and thus couldn't putt it without going off with the line, so got the rare chance to chip even though I hit the green in regulation. And since I'm thinking far enough ahead and I'm just looking to eliminate any possible doubts, got the goods to prove it: Fun fact: so far through 2 rounds, my average proximity to hole is 21.1 feet. Round 1 it was 21 feet exact, round 2 it was 21.2 feet. Just the subtle differences, although that was not the case in the scores. Cheers, good luck!

A monster -16 in round 3 to put me in the fight for promotion. 2 pars on the card, that's it. -8 last round to kind of shoot me in the foot, lost the swing towards the end a bit and did finally get 1 bogey... -45 for the week, and no eagles at all. Pure birdie scoring. Will it be enough to get me the missing promotion mark? Cheers, good luck!

Some really good scores on that leader board, I hope everyone had a good time. Had a lot of fun watching some of the streamers play it this week.
Thanks to hmammoth for getting me on the schedule. I've never thought about naming a course after an obscure food item, but it sounds like a good idea!

I really enjoyed this week’s course and played extremely well shooting -53 for a tie for 2nd. I’m curious about the winner’s sudden resurgence as this will be two wins in a row where he smoked the field shooting 108 under par after missing 3 of 5 cuts and not having a top 20. Work is he attended a very expensive TGC golf school being offered by world #1 Lynsey Collins where he obtained a golden controller, known for its pure swings. This weeks beat down of the Kinetic field by Jim was so severe he barely had to play the last round. Jim, before you fly off in your private jet purchased with the massive winnings from the past two weeks, can you share your success story with the minions you rolled the past two weeks?
