Wutpa download Wise Registry Cleaner (free) www.wisecleaner.com once installed run the program it will scan your pc for any registry errors, then select clean. Run it again to be sure it cleaned all files. . Next before trying to run the game, SAVE your player file so you do not lose fittings etc. This can be found in Your Documents Games PGA Tour 2k23 Common folder, just copy that file and place it somewhere safe in case you need to reinstall your player.I fear that since you already uninstalled you might have lost your player fittings etc. Next I would make an exception for the game in your virus program. Now Verify your files via steam. Right click on game in steam, select properties, then verify files. After that is done try starting your game. The Reg cleaner most likely may have fixed your problem. Also make sure all your drivers are updated . Let me know if this helps. Inflames-Carol (wife of Deathstar) Edit: Are you sure you have enough space on pc for the download? Wow, that's a fantastic set of suggestions/instructions, Carol, thank you so much. I did back up my files before uninstalling, so if I ever get back in again I think I'll be able to restore my fittings if they're gone. And my installation drive still has nearly 500 GB of free space, so I think I'm good. But I'll start with Wise Registry Cleaner tomorrow and follow those instructions to the letter. At this point I'm up for any suggestions short of standing naked in a muddy field and howling at the moon, but I'm certainly interested to try your suggestions. Thanks again, and thanks also to everyone who has offered suggestions or sympathy. I appreciate it all!

jeseterr Round three score -6
Double bogey on hole three, but fought hard to get back to even par for the front nine. Managed to pick up six birdies on the back nine. Pulled my putt badly on hole sixteen, but somehow the ball went into the hole from 51ft for birdie.About time i had abit of luck. Hope you can get your computer working Wupta 🙏,it would be a shame to see you go 😞. Goodluck fellow Ball Bashers in your final rounds 😁.

Okay, here's what I did: - Downloaded and installed Wise Registry Cleaner. I ran it three times, just to get the registry as sparkly clean as possible.
- Saved my player file elsewhere.
- Added an exception for PGATOUR2K23.exe in my antivirus program (Webroot).
- Verified my files in Steam. 100% okay.
- Drivers checked to make sure they are up to date.
- Took a deep breath.
- Clicked 'Play' in Steam to start the game........
- ............nothing happened. As usual the green Start button changes to red and says Cancel for about 5 seconds while the game says it is "preparing to launch PGA Tour 2K23", and then it goes back to green and Start and nothing more happens.
Regardless of this disappointing outcome I am very grateful for the detailed advice and instructions inflames47 , and at the very least the registry cleanup will have been helpful. I can see from a search that I now have 32 2K23 AppCrash reports in my ProgramData folder, that being how many times I have tried to start the game in the last 48 hours. At this point I am left to wonder if it is a hardware problem rather than a software one, and whether my graphics card is damaged or not fully functioning in some way. I gave it a clean and checked the connections yesterday, but if I have to replace it then I'm out of the 2K23 picture (graphically and figuratively) for a long time, because I don't have the money for that in the short term, not when everything else seems to be running okay on it. I guess I can take my PC in to get it looked over and given a service/health check, but at this point I'm afraid I don't see how I can continue with Dirtbags next week, mis amigos golfistas. Again, I'm grateful for the support and sorry for the disruption. Nigel jeseterr billybudd0623

I'm having an issue atm in Steam with Uncharted where it keeps losing the executable. Fortunately verifying files fixes it but it's a bit weird.

I haven't tried every game, but I did try the most recent and graphics-hungry ones, including 2K21, and they all load just fine. 2K23 is alone in acting up.
This is what happens when I try to start the game from the system tray:

Edited to save people scrolling through a quote train I was just doing some reading earlier seeing if I could find anything for you. Have you tried to run the game from the steam folder. Not "play" on the steam client. For me its Program files (x86)-Steam-Steam Apps-Common-PGA Tour 2k23 Click on the icon to run the game from there. From what I've read doing this you may get a window pop up that there is a missing or corrupt dll file. To which you can google that dll, download and install it and it may fix the problem -=-=-=-=- Edit. Been a while since I've posted in the Dirtbags thread. lol

Yes, I have tried to run the game straight from the executable, and I chose 'run as administrator' when I did it. Sadly it gives me the same result, which is a couple of seconds of a window popping up telling me it is "Preparing to launch PGA Tour 2K23", followed by a another couple of seconds of the spinning circle, and then nothing at all.

Ok. I'm out of options other than a question. Do you use reshade at all (for any game). I know this version of 2k has Denevo (sp) anti cheat crap and reshade may trigger that. If you do use reshade, try uninstalling it, even if not using it for this game.
Grasping at straws and most likely being annoying more than anything with everyone coming out of the woodwork with ideas and suggestions.
More support than you would get from HB though lol

only other thing i could think of is assume you turned it off the normal way the last time you played 2k ?
i mean a severe solution but probably not my best advice as im sure others may have better ideas if all else fail what about a sysyem restore to a date when it was working fine
